Stories About My Should Be Ex

“It’s both our fault”. This was the response I received after having explained to my partner how his comment, that the hand job I was giving him had gone for too long, had irritated me. Apparently I hadn’t proceeded with oral quick enough, it was poor form on my behalf.

I rolled over annoyed attempting to explain to him that the kissing and cuddling that he had informed me I hadn’t done whilst pulling him off, could have been initiated by him. Still he continued, I had now made things awkward. If only I had just shut my mouth or better yet wrapped it around his penis.

I was use to being told I made things awkward. Having asked why he never seemed to initiate foreplay I received a response to the likes of I emasculate him. I don’t dress up in lingerie enough, I say men are jerks. I suppose I can see how those things may effect his ego. Still I believed that he should reflect upon what he had said to me. His ego I thought, how about my self worth. He wasn’t doing it any favours. And it wasn’t as if this was the first I had heard any of the things he’d said.

Reenacting the entire argument in my head I became increasingly more angry and somewhat fed up of the entire situation. Surely I wasn’t asking much of him. Maybe he was just having another one of his bad days.

Hours earlier I hadn’t gotten into the car quick enough to help him run his errands. Though this apparently stemmed from the fact that I didn’t give him a kiss hello whilst he was showering, after walking through the front door. There was also the fact that I was on the phone whilst waiting for him to finish showering and getting ready so that we could make his 5 o’clock appointment. I deserved the snappy remarks, or I should have breezed over them once he hopped into the car.

It was now 1am, and I had work the next day. “How about you go to gym to reflect upon what you said”, I suggested. He was going to go to gym anyway, it was too late for me to join him now, and after our prior conversation I was happy to have the space, even though earlier I had asked if I could join him. I don’t know why I assumed for once he would go at a somewhat reasonable hour.

Some deep reflections must have ensued that morning as his didn’t return until almost 5.30 in the morning. Happier at least from when he left, as though nothing had happened.
