Loves go by, friends stay by, they say. But how true is this phrase? There are many cases in which the number of friends decreases in relation to the number of candles we blow out each year.

As the years go by, the factors that constantly put the bonds of friendship in check increase and that is why we begin to give priority to "true friendship". But how do you detect those who say they are your friends but in reality are not?

Let's look at six signs that warn when it's time to end a friendship. Sometimes we cannot realize the bad intentions of others if we take the friendship too seriously. Be careful and watch out for those signs.

1. When you are criticized

It is clear that true friends tell the truth, but if your friend is taking this to heart and every time you get together he or she doesn't stop criticizing the way you dress, he or she marks all your mistakes and seeks perfection in all your actions, or worse, he or she speaks ill of you to other people, it is time to step aside and walk away.

You should know that a good friend looks for the perfect moment and the best way to tell you things, without causing harm or discomfort.

2. Seeks to compete with you and does not support you

A good friend doesn't celebrate doing something better than you and doesn't compete to beat you.

When the friendship is sincere there is no envy or ambition to be someone better. If your friend makes you feel inferior, that's one more reason to stop considering her as a friend.

3. They calls you only to ask for favors

Every time he calls you is to ask you a favor, he even owes you money and always has excuses for not paying you.

If this sounds familiar to you, the best thing to do is not waste any more of your time and win with that friendship.

4. They get involved with your ex and doesn't tell you

It is clear that being someone's ex-partner does not make you the owner of that person. But when it comes to a friend, there are certain codes to respect.

It's not that you have the power to prevent a relationship, but it's certainly appreciated if I tell you about it and/or ask you if it bothers you (even if you don't mind).

These are codes that should be respected among those who claim to be true friends; those who do not do so do not really value your friendship.

5. Lies to you constantly

When the lies become repetitive, and what is worse, you always realize that he is lying to you, it is time to evaluate that friendship.

If you are one of those people who value honesty, trust and love your friends, it is advisable that you stay away from these types of people and give your time and love to those who really deserve it.

6. Does not support or listen to you

If your friend is not there to help you when you have a problem, does not take the time to listen to you, and does not support or encourage you in your goals or projects, he or she simply does not deserve to be considered your friend.

Unlike people like that, a true friend is happy with your accomplishments and shares the good times and bad together.
