Being in a relationship is fun, but is it worth it? If we take a look at finances, freedom, and nights out being in a relationship versus being single, being single may be the better life choice for some.

Some people may say that being single is awful or lonely, but is it really? You have the freedom to do almost anything you would like, whether that is flirting or just going out with your friends. Being single comes with many advantages, such as the freedom to do almost anything without a jealous partner getting involved, spending less money going out, going to bars or clubs, and hanging with friends on a night out, not worrying about an envious partner. That sounds like a pretty good single life right there.

Being single can often save a lot of money in the long run. Going out to dinner by yourself can be a lot of fun, especially when the dinner only costs you between $15 to $25 depending on where you eat. You only have to worry about paying for yourself with almost everything, except maybe when you have friends involved. Being single comes with no worries of paying for your partner or the bill being higher than expected.

Freedom, a word we love to hear. This is why being single is perfect; you get all the freedom, with some exceptions, of course. You can freely flirt with whomever you would like to without the worries of a significant other becoming jealous. You can also be flirted with and flirt right back with absolutely no regrets. When you are single, you can also do almost anything without judgment from your partner, or freely hang out with friends and family and go on vacations. The best part about freedom, you can go from one guy to another with no strings attached.

The last thing to look at for being single is nights out, whether with friends or by yourself, or even a date. Nights out can be tremendously fun when you are single. Just like with freedom, you can flirt with whomever you would like to. You also do not have to worry about your partner not wanting you to go out with friends, limiting what you can do.

Being in a relationship can be nice if it is healthy. It comes with trust, respect, honesty, and love. If it is a one-sided relationship, and only one person is putting in the effort, that would be considered unhealthy. Neither of the people in the relationship will be satisfied. Being in a relationship can be tricky, but sometimes it is worth it, especially when you love one another.

Relationships may require a lot of money to be spent unless you have a strict budget with one another. Going out to eat will be more expensive, especially if one person is paying. The bill would be anywhere from $30 to $70, depending on where you go out to eat. Most of the time, you buy double of everything in relationships, meaning you are spending more than you would if you were single. If both people in the relationship have steady jobs and know how to budget well, money most likely would not be the biggest problem.

The biggest problem is freedom in a relationship. Being in a relationship comes with some amount of jealousy, so you may be limited to what you can do. To avoid jealousy and fights, you may have to drop a lot of what you love to do. Of course, if you are in a healthy relationship, that may not be the biggest deal. With relationships, you may end up doing almost everything together, which limits your freedom, but again, if you both have the same vibe, doing everything together would be fun.

It may be fun to go out at night with your significant other, but it may be limited. Going to bars and clubs may be risky, especially if you separate and find yourself in the predicament of another person flirting with you. If you wanted to go out at night with some friends, your partner, as also mentioned above, could become jealous and not like you going out at all. Of course, if you were in a healthy relationship with trust and honesty, that may not be a problem.

In conclusion, being single may be a better option for many people, especially if you want to live freely. Being in a relationship can bring much abundance in your life as well, you won’t be lonely on cold nights, don’t have to watch a movie alone, and you can always have someone by your side. Being single may bring loneliness, but if you have plenty of close friends, you will be set until you are ready to settle down with the BEST. One of my biggest rules: don't settle for less than you deserve.
