Single Status (check) Maybe

Oooh no my scarf, as it blew in the wind, I caught it, then my $400.00 dollars shoes, got wet! I step in a puddle of water outside of my favorite boutique and dropped my brand new shoes, I just purchased in the water. You should see the stares I am getting and the looks… yes I am freaking out about shoes. Hell! I am a 32 year old single female, no kids, an awesome career, and nothing but time on my hands to love me some me, if you know what I am saying.

Look at me just at talking away, I forgot to introduce myself, Hi… I am Rochelle Winters, but all my family and friends call me Germie, I know, I know, you are probably thinking… where does Germie come from, my middle name is Geraldine named after my Great grandmother, so I am Germie; well little Germie and my Great Grandmother is the original we call her Big Mama Germie. My Great grandmother is still living and 84 years old, don’t do the math to figure out how old my mother was when she had me, none of that matters. What matters is I am fabulous, my body is curvy to the gods, thanks to God of Thickums… yesss… the God of Thickums exist… ooh shoot... my hair got in my mouth… Look at me getting distracted ok, so today, I am out of my house during the pandemic getting ready for my “Google meets” virtual date.

That is right I got a date tonight! Go Germie, Go Germie, its ya birthday, ooh I randomly cheer myself on when something good happens for me. So this is my 1st date with this sexy guy I meet in my virtual exercise class, ok so if you haven’t guess, I am very cautious with this COVID-19 virus, plus it is only two weeks into the fall season which is the height of cold and flu season. This guy (Ulysses) is super fine but he isn’t worth my life. The God of Thickums… didn’t carry me this far just to leave me now. Soo let me tell you how excited I am. Wait, you are probably wondering what is “Google meets,” so it a virtual meeting app that you can conduct business and or sessions via video. In live time! I forgot to mention I am a Genetic counselor, so most of my sessions, I have been conducting since the pandemic hit early spring, have been virtually, which has actually been great for the clinic I work for. Which is why it is so important that I get my workout on a daily basis. The curves on my body are all thanks to yoga, pilates, and my hip hop step class, that is where I met fine, and I do mean fine Ulysses….

Ok, this guy has smooth brown skin, curly hair that looks a nature trees of trimmed garden bushes, 6ft3 of sexiness. He hit me up in the warm down group chat after class and we exchanged emails. After a few harmless flirty emails, we finally exchanged numbers… ok yall his voice didn’t disappoint… yes thank the Gods of who done it!, to created, big hands, big feet, smooth brown skin, and sultry deep voice on every man that comes within my path.. makes my entire day.. oh I digress. Ok where is my car, this parking lot is like a maze… I safely put my shoes in my car in seat belt in the front seat of my 2019 Toyota corolla, (hey a girl can be thrifty on some things) and slowly zoomed off to my condo. To get ready for my first virtual; date and online wine tasting.

I must of skipped that part, our 1st date is virtual wine tasting with Bright Cellars. Autumn season is known as pre-cuffing season, that is right look it up… and I need to make sure Mr. fine Ulysses can handle these tight body curves on me as well us the tipsy version of me… so I am looking for good conversation and good wine. Ulysses already order our selection of wine three wine varietals that are perfect for the fall season, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and my favorite wine Merlot he sent them via FedEx, (and of course I gave a phony address to mail it too). He also gave me a $50.00 dollar uber eats gift card to order whatever dinner I like and guess what yall, I matched him and gave him a $45.00 dollar online e-gift card to door dash. Now yall know, as my Great grandmother “Big mama Germie” tells me, good thing comes in threes: 1. my first virtual date, 2. my first date with fine Ulysses, annnnnnddd 3. my first online wine tasting… I can confirm that my single status will be moving real soon to check the maybe box, or, its complicated, or friends in the making, or lovers for life. Either way; fine, smooth talking, brown skin Ulysses, must be my soulmate and lover.

I finally made it home, put the code into my gate, picked my food from the front office, where my uber eats meal was waiting for me, covered tightly from this delicious Italian restaurant. I could smell my order through the bag; everyone knows rustic ratatouille goes with merlot, for dessert I got butterscotch brownies to match with my chardonnay as well as a cream pasta, and stuffed mushrooms with grilled salmon to go with my Pinot Noir.

I run up the stairs to my condo, struggle to get my key out my purse to open the door because my hands are full of my $400.00 dollars scarf and shoes, and uber eats meals… put everything down on my counter, scrubbed my hands, throw off my mask from my face. I quickly lay everything out… grab my corkscrew, open my wine tasting box from Bright cellars, I hold up the 1st wine bottle; Hazelaire Pinot Noir, the 2nd bottle I pull out; Meet Cute Oaked Chardonnay, and finally the 3rd bottle; Wandering Giants Merlot. I let out a shout niiiccceee. I grab a large glass bowl dumped three large cups of ice in them washed my wine new glass wine set and placed them on my table ottoman.

Grab my laptop, put on my cute, yet revealing lace top, push back my curling spiral hair with a cute butterfly pin, brush my teeth, smiled three times to practice how I would greet Ulysses, on our virtual date/online wine tasting, and wrapped my new expense gorgeous scarf around my curves. The color just made my skin pop (orange) which happens to be my favorite color and Ulysses and we both love the season fall, I wonder if we will have a fall season baby, focus Germie, focus, ok wine all three wine of them, check, ice bowl check, lighting good, check, plate… ohh noo, I ran to my kitchen grab my plate from the cupboard, rinsed it out, grab forks spoons-plated all my food, and put my dessert on a saucer, and of course, I took a picture for my social media, hash tag dream date (#dreamdate)…. , I put the Wandering Giants Merlot in my ice bowl to chill because I know I want to enjoy every ounce of that bottle. Yess! I said to myself out-loud, I opened my laptop, log on to our “Google Meets” link there was our host (Julia) her name under her video square, hmmm maybe we can name our 1st daughter Julia, focus Germie, focus... then off to the right square was the one and only fine annnnd I do mean fine Ulysses with a big smooth smile, and in his hands was none other than the Wandering Giants Merlot, he said in his smooth voice, hello Germie, you look beautiful as always, I asked our host if we could start with this one (holding up the wine bottle of Merlot) I feel like this drink will be our signature drink together. I smiled and blushed and said oooh Mr. Ulysses you really have made this our dream date!
