She is my friend…

Her presence encompasses the embodiment of confidence, grace, raw emotion, anger, empathy, fierce protector, loyalty, coldness, intelligence, street smart, and complete love to those she trusts. Life has betrayed her in so many ways, but she continues to stand up in the face of all that expected her to fail.

We met by chance, and in our regular environments we may not have ever crossed paths, but the Universe had other plans.

She is my friend…

Our lived experience brought us together. Unfortunately, the trauma from our past created an opportunity to meet, a career choice that brought us to the same place. We come from different places, we were raised differently, and we came from different cultures - but we are the same.

She is my friend…

Both of us guarded, both of us suspending our biases, and both of us actively listening with empathetic ears – we became friends. She reveals to the world a tough exterior, a layer of armor that protects her from peoples’ opinions, distrust, and misguided opinions. If you truly know her, she will peel back her layers and allow you to see the uninhibited light that exudes all around her soul. She is an individual of extraordinary strength – she has been beaten down but continues to create her own life, sculpting it with self-love, compassion, faith, and determination.

She is my friend…

Each time this world has pierced her heart, she stands taller. She embraces her weaknesses and rises above to see her circumstances as an opportunity to grow and help others. She has pulled herself up when life has stripped her of everything – she silently cries and challenges herself to put a smile on her face. She is unique and never views herself as ordinary. She takes chances, and she lives with an open heart to understand that this too shall pass.

She is my friend…

I sit back and internalize how much in awe I am of her. Don’t let her strong character scare you because inside her soul is a woman who has not even come close to reaching her capabilities. Sky is the limit, and no circumstances will deter her from reaching her goals because she makes no excuses – she is a warrior.

Dear friend, I couldn’t be prouder of the woman you are, we have connected on a level that created a confidence in me. I admire the strength it has taken to overcome all the mountains you have climbed – remember that God only gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. Whatever road this world takes us, just know that I will always be rooting for you and believing in your abilities.

She likes to be referred to as QueenEarth - she deserves that title because she is majestic in her circle, but grounded by her nature to love. She is a blessing to this world, she is unapologetically herself, a leader, a mother, a friend, a daughter, and an advocate to fight for the underdog. She recognizes the importance of lifting each other up as women, supporting one another to make this world a better place.

Her energy is contagious, she communicates through music, through the clothing she wears, and her ability to make you feel important. She knows how terrible this life can be but she knows how to use that pain as fuel to ignite her passions - she is a leader.

Life has taken both of us down some undesirable and undeserving paths, but life has also brought us to an amazing friendship.
