Dressing for some major photo opportunities that would make all her 'friends' on instagram jealous. Chloe paid careful attention to her makeup, following the video of 'how to contour like a boss,' to a tea. Highlighting to turn attention away from her crooked nose. Whiting the corners of her eyes so they appear less piggy.

This is Chloe's moment, she will need to become accustomed to attending glamorous events, removing her from her boring life. She struck lucky with her date, a self made millionaire and all round good-natured guy. Like something out of a fairytale they bumped into each other at Tim Hortons. She spilled her peach tea over him, and he dropped his carton of twenty four do-nuts he was fetching for his interns.

Apologising profusely, and offering to cover costs, which she couldn't possibly cover. He laughed the incident off and asked her out on a date. Here they are, going to a gala dinner at the top of the revolving restaurant of the CN Tower in Toronto. A long way from Rhyl where Chloe grew up.

She takes his arm as they step on the revolving section of the restaurant, loosing her balance slightly his firm grip clutches her around the waist, steadying her. The maître d' guides them to their table, Chloe can tell, with her limited knowledge of the finer things in life, no expense is spared tonight.

"Let me," Russell offers politely pulling her chair out for her and helping her to her seat.

"Thanks, I am so uncomfortable, I'm still not used to fancy restaurants." Chloe admits.

He strokes her hand and signals for the waiter, "something to drink?"

"What would you like?" The waiter asks his accent clearly French.

"Un verre de Merlot." Chloe reaches deep into her school French lessons for the request.

"Oui mademoiselle," the waiter said delighted to be spoken to in French.

"En fait une bouteille de merlot," Russell trumps her requesting a bottle of Merlot rather than a glass.

The waiter fetches their bottle of Merlot beaming a white smile which would be the envy of any Colgate advert. They raised their glasses in a toast to their evening, and their fortune of meeting. The mellow flavour of the wine surrounding Chloe in rich fruits as she allows the Merlot to wrap it's arms around her in a comforting embrace.

"Delicious," Chloe commented.

"Yes, yes you are," Russell agrees as he drops to one knee, reaching into his pocket. "Chloe, we may have only just met. You are the one, we are prefect for each other, let's not waste time. Make me the happiest man alive, marry me."

Chloe's squeal is drowned out by the breaking glass and the sound of automatic gunfire pummelling into the walls all around them. Russell swipes across the table knocking her to the floor. Lying on top of her to shield her from the gunfire.

People are screaming, crashes ring out all around as tables are pushed over, exquisite china and crystal glasses smash, and the sound of a helicopter fills the restaurant. Chloe can't quite work out why, but the windows are blown and in the distance is a helicopter landing at the airport. Her mind races and she clings desperately to Russell, this sort of thing doesn't happen in Rhyl, she thinks.

"Stay down," Russell says, "everything is going to be all right." No sooner do the words leave his mouth, a thin trail of blood slides from the right corner. His eyes take on a vacant look and the light in them turns out. Forever.

Chloe scurries beneath the table, careful not to make a sound. The intruders footsteps stomping above her, where the waiters previously served their drinks.

The air is full of smoke and fear, people are whimpering from their hiding points, not imaginatively under the tables. Someone on the next table is saying their Hail Mary's while another in direct contrast is swearing like a trooper. Gunfire fills the air again.

"Stop." Chloe shouts, getting out from where she is hiding. Seeing the blood bath all around her, bile rising in her throat, she forces to swallow the bile back down where it belongs.

"Re-set transmission," she commands, "let's try again, why can't I ever get the happy ending."
