Safety Was a Promise
The safety bridge has fallen down.

What is this world coming to? Law enforcement is doing everything but protect and serve. You can’t leave your doors unlocked anymore. Safety has become a cuss word.
We are no longer safe in this world. You can be arrested for anything, beaten, assaulted, and guess what? It’s justified! Why? Because the law always takes care of their own. I know that this will kill my stats and that’s fine but it’s the truth. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen news stories where things have either been swept under the rug or claimed as “justified” because of a person’s MENTAL STATUS!
Unless that person had an AK-47, shotgun, knife, etc. and attacked you, then what’s justifiable about it? NOTHING. It’s okay to shoot a person that’s mentally ill because they are mentally ill but a person selling drugs on the street corner isn’t dangerous. I’m missing the logic here. You shoot a mentally ill person, but not an armed drug dealer. Make it make sense.
You can’t leave your house unlocked anymore. There was once a time that you could do that. But now, people just walk right into your house. No matter what room of the house you may be in. True, they can kick doors down but why do that when you can just walk in?
Some people walk in a house and kill an entire family. They don’t even have to know you. Some people are just that evil. I say evil because sometimes they shoot babies and children. You have to be nothing but evil to shoot a child or baby in the face. There is no other word for it.
People are quick to say something happened because of a person's bad decisions. We all make bad decisions. But I hate to hear someone say: "Well he/she brought it on themselves.” “Its his/her fault.” I don’t give a d***what a person does or doesn’t do. People do not have the right to inflict violence on each other and I hate to hear people say that ignorant BS.
We aren’t safe outside of our homes either. You can be minding your own business driving down the road and get hit by a car. This person may hit you by accident or may have done it on purpose. You both get out and look at your cars and ask if everything is okay. Sometimes, you may have to call law enforcement. Now this person was just fine before law enforcement got there.
Then, they turn on you. He/she was speeding and hit my car like they didn't care. You are confused because this person was talking fine not too long ago.
In some cases, the person that hits you has no insurance. Then, you are left with damage to your car and they don’t have to pay for it.
One last thing. This world is so jacked up right now its pitiful. Every president talks about the one before him but what is that solving? Zilch. We have been at risk for a government shutdown so many times it gives me a headache. Every time you look at the news, there are new rules and regulations about something.
I have stopped watching the news and looking at online articles. I don’t even follow politics anymore. We aren’t safe in our homes. We aren’t safe on our jobs. Some people have lost their jobs and cannot re-enter the workforce. I could go on and on forever but I’m not going to.
I could criticize the President but I’m not going to. I'm criticizing what’s going on in the country right now. We don’t know what’s going to happen from one minute to the next. Every day, something changes. But, that’s life and we can’t control anything or anyone.
To end my story, I say this: Take care of yourself, try to do what’s right. Do everything you can to protect your life.
