run in a different direction

Don't promise others easily what you are not capable of doing. Once you promise others, you must fulfill your promise. - Washington

She is black, her father is a Christian pastor, and her mother is a music teacher. Her father often took her to listen to all kinds of music and poems in the church, and she was very talented in music. Her mother taught her to play the piano since she was two years old, and she gave her own recital at the age of four.

At the time, Alabama, where her home was located, was the most racially discriminated place in the United States. Black people are recognized as an inferior race. Black people can only sit in the back seat on the bus. Black and white people are not allowed to study at the same school, swim in the same pool, or even use the same toilet. She vowed to stand out in the future, become a world-class pianist, give a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, and tell the world with her achievements that black people are by no means inferior!

Her mother told her a cruel rule: You can only be equal to white children if you are twice as good as them, and you can surpass them if you are three times higher. Bearing in mind her mother's teachings, she studied furiously, skipped two grades in a row, completed junior high school ahead of schedule, and did not lose her beloved piano for a moment.

At the age of 26, she entered the prestigious University of Denver Conservatory of Music to study piano performance and made steady progress towards her set goal. But no one expected that something happened later that completely changed the course of her life.

During the summer vacation of her sophomore year, she was fortunate to participate in the famous Aspen Music Festival. There, she was shocked to see several musical prodigies. Several tunes in her eyes are very difficult, and several teenage children can play them with ease, but she has studied hard for several years, but she can't reach their level.

She suddenly realized that there are days outside the sky, and her musical talent is far inferior to these children. If she insists on developing in the direction of music, she will never be able to succeed. Since music is not suitable for me and cannot be world-class, it is better to give up as soon as possible and find another way. This is an extremely risky idea. When she asked her parents for advice, they thought she was hot-headed and firmly opposed it. But she did not turn back and resolutely gave up the music dream that she had been fighting for for nearly 20 years. She calmed down and began to adjust her direction, feeling that she was more suited to study politics, and then transferred to the School of International Relations at the University of Denver, a timely turn that opened a new page in her life.

At the age of 26, she earned a Ph.D. in political science with honors and became the only black assistant professor at Stanford University. Because of her unique and outstanding political insights, she gradually became famous in American politics, and was later invited to the White House, and she began a brilliant political career. In late 2000, she became the first black female secretary of state in the United States, and was dubbed "the most powerful woman in Washington."

Her name is Condoleezza Rice. It is not difficult to imagine that if there is no timely change of the direction of his running, there will be no politically important Rice, and many are just a dispensable second-rate pianist. Running in a different direction is, in a sense, a way to achieve success more quickly.

Ostrich cannot fly, but is good at running. Almost all birds think that ostriches are birds and cannot fly, which is a pity. So, everyone persuaded and helped the ostrich to practice flying. Despite everyone's great efforts, the ostrich did not learn to fly in the end. The wise owl sighed, "Why not make use of the ostrich's strengths and let it practice running?" The ostrich listened to the owl's persuasion and began to practice running skills hard, and became the running champion among birds.

This fable was told by my father when I was a child, and I remember it vividly because it answered the question of how to develop and use the value of life.

In real life, we often stare at a person's shortcomings, and are keen to reform a person's shortcomings.

As everyone knows, a person's strengths are the treasures with the most development value.

Life is short, and this sentence should wake everyone to do whatever he wants to do. Although diligence does not guarantee certainty, and death may destroy a prosperous one, but those who fail to achieve at least have the honor of participating in the army, and even if he does not win, he is considered to have fought.
