It was a Friday night. I was in this Award party, more like, I was brought to this party by someone. As a result, I had to be stuck with this same person the whole time, and I had to pretend frequently to use the bathroom just to take a break.
On my way there, I had an eye contact with this guy that looked as if he was pulled straight out from a TV show in the 70s — leather jacket, flare-out pants, white sneakers, and of course the hairstyle. On my way out, he somehow had two Martinis each with a piece of rose petal in his hands. He was standing towards the bar, but he was looking at my direction. I just walked back. Soon after I got in the group, he came with a friend and of course, the two Martinis. His friend seemed to know some people in my group. After the introduction, he showed off his two special-made Martinis to two girls in the group. So I went, "where is mine?" before I noticed the person that brought me here wasn't really happy about his coming over. He took one and showed it off to me, playing with the rose petal, faking to give it to me. I was a bit annoyed. Then his friend gave me the other one. I finished the whole drink all at once — it was in fact really tasty that I would usually take my time with it, but I was annoyed at that moment.
Then at some point of the conversation, one of the girls wanted to get a drink, so I went with her to take a break from this boring and awkward situation. She asked me if I knew him and told me that he claimed he had won the Award four times. "I don't care. He doesn't like me for no reason." I was obviously still annoyed at him. Then she said, "I think he likes you. Some people just want to get attention." "Are we still in kindergarten?" With that said, I felt differently — was she right about this?
When we were about to leave the bar to be back to the group, he came up. The other girl left, and I stayed. "Do you know there is a surprise to be revealed in this party?" He said. Hmm, interesting, I leaned on him and put my elbow on his shoulder so I could put my head weight on my hand, "where is it?" "Now you are acting like a crazy person." He definitely knew how to be a jerk. I put back my elbow and stared at him, pouting. "I didn't say crazy is bad." He smiled. His teeth were very white and shiny. For some reason, I like the outline of his eyes and eyebrows, and the outline of his cheeks when he smiles.
At that moment, the surprise of the party was revealed and caught everyone's attention. When I was turning my head, he grabbed my face and kissed me. It caught me off-guarded, but I didn't resist. It was an interesting feeling — it was not like the electric shock towards someone at the first glance but just surprised and unexpected. It probably would stay in my mind for a good while. After the kiss, he whispered in my ear, "stay."
I followed him back to the group with this new and interesting mixture of feelings — I was still trying to comprehend what he did, but I guess all of those were trumped by the kiss. The group wanted to leave, and I could only hear the voice in my head, "stay." The person who brought me to the party was really mad, so I made an excuse, an unsatisfying one, of course.
He took my hand and led me through the crowd. For a moment, I thought it would not be too bad an idea if we called it forever. He turned around, smiled- he looked really good. "Here." He pointed the fire escape staircase. We went down one floor, and voila, arrived in his suite. "Are we sneaking in a random person's suite?" I looked at him. "You like it?" He just smiled. "Very much so." Without letting me finish, he held my face with both of his hands. There were fireworks from the party as our background. I was lost in all of these, infatuated.
In the middle of the night, someone was knocking the door very heavily. I could guess from the sound far away that it was the person that brought me to that party. The next thing I knew, he came back with bruises on his face, and I remembered him telling me he had a filming on Monday. Gosh.
I knew it was my cue to leave.
