What is Mindfulness?

The term mindfulness has been popping up in the media lately, and it's true benefits are becoming more well-known. When we consider meditation or taking a break to unwind, we frequently connect it with "relaxing." However, there is much more than meets the eye! Being mindful means being completely aware of your surroundings, the people you are with, and yourself. It can help you feel less stressed out when life gets hectic!

Mindfulness helps us take a step back from these situations and assess them more clearly without letting emotions cloud our judgement.

How can you practice mindfulness?

Here are a few ways that we recommend for busy entrepreneurs:

- Sitting in silence for just five minutes everyday. This could be done first thing in the morning, or right before bed. During this time, simply focus on your breath and allow all other thoughts to pass by.

- Taking a mindful walk outside. This is a great way to clear your head and take in all of the beauty around you! Find a quiet spot outdoors and spend some time focusing on your breath as you walk.

- Engage in an activity that allows you to feel your body. This could be anything from yoga or strength training, to swimming or dancing!

- Make sure you are getting enough sleep every night (at least six hours). Sleeping helps clear our minds and rejuvenate us, which can help improve focus and decision making while working on the business during the day.

There are so many techniques out there for mindfulness, and it may take some time to find the technique that works best for you. The most important thing is that you are not rushing through your day - try to experience each moment fully.

How To Practice Mindfulness Everyday?

Take just five minutes everyday before or after work to practice mindfulness. You could also try taking your lunch break at work in silence instead of eating with coworkers if possible. And when you get home from work , try meditating right before bed while lying down. There are plenty of guided meditations on YouTube that can help you get started!
