Love Or Codependency

It's been almost a couple of weeks since you talked to or hung out with Eric. Since then you have been doing your thing, hanging out with friends but honestly, none of it made you happy like it used to. You wanted to do all these things with Eric. You took your friends advice and haven't been the one to text first after you let him know you made it home safe from the bar that night. But now doubt is creeping in your mind, maybe you shouldn't have listened to them. After all, they don't know him like you do. Honestly they don't even know him.

After a long day at work, you get home, make something to eat and change into something comfy. As your plans for tonight are to lay in bed, binge on junk food and watch movies. You find one of your favorites to watch and lay back ready to get into the zone when your phone goes off.

The same butterflies return in your stomach and you instantly open your messages.

You see a little hand waving at you

You smile at the cornyness of it all.

You send him the same thing back.

"What's up?" He asks you

You decide to be honest.

"It's been a while, I thought you ghosted me." You text back

"Nope." He replies.

For a moment you don't know what to say, he could have given you an explanation,right? Just a little insight of what he has been doing?

"Just been busy." He texts to you.

"Oh, okay," You assume that now he must be free and ask him if he wants to hang out. "You want to hang out tonight?"

You see that it's around 8ish, still early to go grab a couple drinks.

"I'm going to stay in tonight, do you have anything planned this weekend?"

You instantly say no, even though this weekend you did make plans with your friends to go see a movie you all have been talking about for the last month. You decide that this would be the perfect opportunity for your friends to meet the guy you have be talking about.

"Actually, I just remembered, My friends and I are going to see a movie this weekend. Do you want to come?" You send him the invite, your nerves are shot, waiting for his answer. Just the thought of you getting to show him off to your friends makes your heart race like a kid on Christmas morning.

"I would, but I don't want to take you away from your friends. We can just meet up after the movie." He says to you. Your heart drops, and your mind is torn. You really want to see the movie with your friends, but at the same time you really want to hang out with Eric. Why doesn't he want to come meet your friends? It's not like he's old, hes basically the same age as you are. You stare at your phone looking for answers only you can make.

"No, I rather hang out with you." You respond.

"What time does the movie end?" He asks you.

You know it's a late viewing, you and your friends always picked the latest showings then go to a 24 hr restaurant and talk for hours about the movie together.

"It's going to be really late, I think around midnight."

"Go have fun, we can make plans next weekend."

Next weekend? That's far too long, it's already been 2 weeks since you last seen him. Your friends would understand right?

"No, I'll go see the movie with them another time, they'll understand. What do you want to do this weekend?" You made up your mind, there's no going back now. Inside you feel guilty, you know your friends are going to be pissed. You have been planning this for months, but you can't afford to miss time spent with Eric.

"I'll let you know, I'm really excited to see you again. I can't stop thinking about last time." He replies to you.

Your heart melts, your smiling the biggest smile in your life. You know for certain you made the right decision.

"I can't stop thinking about it either. I had so much fun." You say.

"I wish I could see you now." He says

Without really thinking about it, you send him a selfie. Your smiling, blankets tucked up around you, wearing your Pj's. You find it cute, waiting to see what he sends you.

"Cute, but you can do better than that. I want to see all of you." He says.

Your shocked, you are an innocent girl never did much of anything really. But you knew for a fact he was asking you for nudes.

"I don't send nudes." You say.

"Why?" he asks

"Because I just don't."

"Whatever." He says.

And for some reason you can't help but feel bad, like you let him down. Eric being upset at you doesn't sit well at all. But it's your choice, besides you haven't even went out on an actually date yet. Never kissed, nothing romantic to even get you into the mood. You felt confused, because after all you are still a virgin. You never expected anything to happen like this.

After some thought you decided to let him know.

"I'm not sure how to say it exactly, but I never been with anyone before. I like you a lot, but that's just too fast for me." You send to him. Your nervous, are all over the place. You can't help but think what if he makes fun of you, like your friends do. What if he decides to lose interest because he wants to be with someone more experienced?

"Seriously?" He asks you.

"Yes" You reply

"Have you ever been kissed?"He asks

"NO, nothing." You reply

"You've had a boyfriend, right?"

"Yes haha, just nothing happened."

"He's stupid, I can't believe he didn't try to kiss you."

"Well, he didn't, things like that just make me nervous, I'm not sure what to do."

"That's cute." He says to you.

Your shocked. "All my friends make fun of me."

"Their idiots, sorry but it's true. you don't have to do anything you don't wanna do. But if you want, I'll teach you anything you want to know."

Your stunned, inside you really wanted to know. You haven't wanted to know so much until now. Eric, kissing you? You couldn't think of anything else better in the world than that.

"Maybe, this weekend?" You imply.

"We'll see." He says.
