Love From Ship to Shore

The moral of the story? Never give up on love.

Magnus is one attractive guy. You would think all eligible bachelorettes would be lining up in line to grab a hold of this attractive hunk, who has just turned over the hill (age 50 precisely). Not so. Not because of this age, yet he has never found the process of dating, courtship and mating to be his strong suit.

Like many of us, Magnus has gone on this ubiquitous journey to finding love, yet not as far as quitting his job and going on The Bachelor or Bachelorette. He has approached girls at bars, buying drinks with that being reciprocated, as well as trying speed dating, and going on group dates. He has also spent a meagre sum on dating agencies to hook him up with the right lady, all to no avail. He has even been cat fished on some online dating sites. Life is feeling unfair for this kind, hard working fella.

Life has also taken it's toll in his work life as an administration manager for an IT company, where he was heading towards burn out, and is seen to accept constructive feedback by the horns, as well as take many calculated risks; yet as of late, not many of them have paid off. Therefore, it is only natural of him to take a holiday, and lo and behold, his boss was forcing him to do so at this point in time. He is resilient, and has chosen not to give up on love, despite women not calling him back after dates, or responding to any of his messages.

Where to go on a holiday, Magnus was thinking to himself, with a cocktail in hand at a nearby waterfront location. It has been a long time between friends that he actually went on a cruise.

Magnus is enjoying life on this cruise ship on the horizon, even though he would always prefer plane trips to cruises. He is lapping it up on the sun deck, as well as participating in cruise events like trivia nights, karaoke, and also spending time in the library to name. Any luck? Not on your life Jose.

Meanwhile, there is Davina, a smart, confident lady who has shared a similar fate to Magnus, yet with a little more Irish luck on her side. Davina has been in two long term relationships, yet is lost for words as to why the men in question failed to commit. Davina is enjoying a cappuccino at the Water's Edge Cafe (appropriately named) at Port Canaveral.

Magnus got an urge to check out the souvenir shops on board, right after his relaxing massage. He has only has a few days left on this trip aboard until the cruise ship docks at Port Canaveral. While shopping, he found this unique box, looking similar to the likes of a treasure chest.

With this new, sentimental pandoras box look alike, he sits down and orders a latte. Magnus writes the following on a piece of paper, and puts it into the box:

"Hello soulmate, I know you are out there. If you find this box, this means that the two of us are meant to be. I love coffee, and so do you. Shall we? Call me...M x"

With his renewed vigour, Magnus drops this box from the cruise deck out into the ocean. Life goes on, with a couple more days left on the cruise.

Little did Magnus know that his package was picked up by an athletic kayaker nearby, of who is heading to Peacock Beach, which is also near the port where this cruise ship is destined to arrive at, touch wood. He thinks there could be money in there, or some form of pearl necklace, so takes it with him.

Time passes (two days precisely), and Davina finishes her cappuccino. Davina was planning to stay along the waterfront, and go for a leisurely walk. After her walk, she heads back to the same cafe to order a hearty lunch. Funnily enough, the same table is waiting for her, and she trips on a mystery box.

Intrigued, Davina opens the box, and finds this magical letter from Magnus, just as the waiter comes to bring her lunch to her table. Being in a state of shock with pure bliss combined is an understatement. Surprise to all of us, there is a diamond ring in the box as well.

Part of Davina's psyche was thinking that this Magnus could be a serial killer, and the other part of her thought of divine intervention. By calling Magnus, and taking him up on his offer, he is ecstatic that his pandoras box was delivered, and this time ladies (well, a special lady) were chasing him. A date is set to have that coffee at the same cafe, figuring that good luck comes in threes.

That would not take place for at least another hour, as the ship that Magnus is on is due to arrive at Port Canaveral in the next hour, and then time will be needed to disembark the ship.

This gave Davina some time to consult her psychic Angel, who happens to be in the area. Coincidences? Could be. Angel has been known to provide highly accurate readings in the area, and Davina was prepared for the outcome to go either way.

This man could be the one I have always been looking for, or he could be that serial killer. Angel will tell me the truth. Davina thought to herself.

Davina's reading at the cafe is underway with Angel.

"There is a man in your life. Um, he is mysterious, and hard working. He works with computers, and has never had luck in love...until now." Said Angel.

"He is in your life right now, suddenly coming through on a cruise ship. He has been on holidays. You have known him through a lucky object."

Angel's next prediction on this mystery man Magnus with a capital M is chilling Davina:

"You have known this man from a previous life. You both met on a cruise ship in the past, and the ship had sunk, out there on the horizon. He did not make it, while you did."

Naturally so, a million thoughts are running through Davina's head, quickly coming to the realisation that Magnus is the one. She is worried sick that he was on a cruise, and yet had died on one in a previous life.

Angel assures her that all is well. She further assured Davina that the relationship will be slow moving, but to be patient with it, and to trust the process.

Not long after Angel left the cafe, Davina goes to pay for her lunch, and then decides to order yet another coffee, the third one for today. The cruise ship arrives at the port safely, and not long thereafter Magnus finds Davina, and they have coffee together as promised, and being the gentleman that he is, Magnus pays for it.

This new couple chat, and before you know it they are kissing, and holding hands along the ocean, while Magnus is doing a stellar job in carting his luggage around with his spare right hand. They agree to go on a road trip, and at another port, Magnus asks for the diamond ring, and puts it on Davina's right ring finger, the one closest to the pinky.

Magnus whispers the following into Davina's ear, and they dance, and then kiss some more:

"Take my hand, take my whole life too, for I can't help falling in love with you."

"I love you" Davina said to Magnus.

"I love you, and I have been looking for you for a while now." Magnus says to Davina.

Davina squeezes his hand harder in agreement.

These new love birds drift off, and resume their normal lives, and pass all the relevant tests. They both agree that the waterfront is bliss again.
