What exactly is it?

What is love? This question has been asked many times throughout our lives here on Earth. The meaning of love, the meaning of life, the meaning of living on this Earth are all questions with unique answers. Some would pick answers that go towards a technical view on the topic, while others would pick an answer that would be unique towards that person. Love, in the dictionary, states an intense feeling of deep affection. The definition is quite vague compared to what other people say about it, creating your own definition of love, creating scenarios that signify love in its strongest form. The definition of love goes farther than what the eye can see. With different perspectives on what the definition of love is, love is truly a universal definition all on its own.

Technically speaking, some people associate love with scientific evidence to why they feel that way. Many people say that being in love is like being on a drug. Brain chemicals such as Oxycontin, adrenaline, vasopressin, and dopamine are all the different hormones that are secreted whenever you indulge in different activities with someone. The more time you spend with the person you love, the more addicted you become. That feeling of your cheeks flushing, sweating, and heart racing whenever you see this person, whenever you're near this person, or whenever you are filled with anxiety whenever you await their presence are just the secretion. To some people, love is just a group of hormones secreting their way to affect how you act towards someone, or something. All those times where your eyes dilate whenever you lock eyes, when you feel uneasy whenever you're near them, when the rush of adrenaline rushes through you, how you just can't keep your eyes off of them, it's all just hormones. Hormones that make you feel that specific way—love hormones, or however one would call them. For a person that relies specifically on science to explain love, this would be accurate. Maybe a person who has never experienced love towards someone would feel this way about the term love. For many people, love is just unexplainable.

Sometimes, love just can't be explained. Looking farther past scientific evidence, looking farther past just words to explain the feeling of love, some rely on scenarios to explain the feeling of love. People would say, "Love is when you look at her and all you see is beauty with everything that she does. Her smile, her laugh, the way she snores, the way that she gets excited whenever she sees something that she loves, everything about her just strikes you with a warm feeling. A feeling that cannot be described." In ways, love is unexplainable. When you see someone you love, you feel a feeling that's unlike anything you have felt before: A feeling that is unique. One that can't be explained with words, but actions. Laying on the couch with the person you love, watching your favorite movie, maybe not even paying attention to the screen because you are so captivated in your partner's eyes. Love is when you see them, and all you can focus on is how each move they make is beautiful. When you can see past their beautiful face, or their positively intoxicating personality. When you can see past their imperfections that you just see as perfection in your eyes. When you see them, all you can think is forever. Loving them forever. Having them forever in your arms, safe from the cruel world. Where happiness lies within them. When you feel that your heart and souls are connected every time you indulge in love making. Love is unexplainable, but without thinking deep enough, love can be put in your own definition.

As the dictionary states, love is an intense feeling of deep affection. The definition shows no falsity, for sure, but the definition is indeed vague. With an unclear definition that doesn't dig deeper into love, many people make up their own definition.

"Love is the feeling you feel when you see someone you really like."

"Love is feeling that is caused by many hormones that makes you feel this way about a person."

"Love is when you see past a pretty face, or a pretty personality."

"Love is when you start to feel a connection with someone that you have a close relation with."

Although none of those examples are wrong, it explains love better than the dictionary definition. Love is unique in its own way. In conclusion, love is universal when it comes to describing it with a definition created by an individual. False definitions can be created for people that hate to love because they have never experienced it. It's purely impossible for them to feel love, or their perspective of love falls under negativity. The definitions that they create moldsa how they are as a person, even sometimes giving you insight to what their experiences with love are.

"Love is a feeling only pretty people feel."

"Love is something that only the lucky feel."

"Love is a useless feeling that you can go without."

Each definition created is unique to the person that created it. At times in their life, events that occur within this person's life may affect their perspective on love. The definition of love goes beyond the dictionary, but it caters to people's experiences.

With how love was explained with the above excerpts, a valid conclusion would be that love is many different things. Love cannot just be described with a definition in the dictionary, but with experiences, with unique definitions created by the people around us, by explaining how the hormones secreted affects how we act whenever we are in love. Love is not just one thing, it's many things. It's when you look at them, and all you see is perfection. With the adrenaline rushing in your veins, you see her walking down the street. Your heart races faster and faster as you walk up to her to kiss her soft lips. You place your hands on her hips, and lean into her, thinking to yourself, "She is love."
