Just Another Familiar Face
Same eyes yet different.

Same eyes. Same scent. Same words. Yet different.
A mere stranger
a stranger with a familiar existence.
I held you with my night-tired eyes,
but no spark rose from them
at the sight of yours.
I sighed, searching for a feature
worth capturing in words,
yet you were faceless
just another human face.
My pupils descended to the ground
they had long feared to face,
running from those stares
that once were my stars
but failed me now.
I shed tears that shook my dreams,
left them lying armless
in your arms
and now they are broken tales
hidden between my pearls.
I raised my two eyes
to meet yours
the eyes I yearned for years,
the cries I swallowed for nothing.
Your gaze had become empty.
I left you where you were,
unmoved by the storms you survived.
I saw your warmth embracing others
the very ones I once bragged about
just to escape you.
For what you are
can’t be fixed.
To love you is to leave.
To depart is the only way
you can become
a part of me again.
I leaned my head against the fears
I once whispered would be burned with you.
Yet my own ashes scattered in the open wind,
singing lullabies to hope
reviving the heart that once trembled.
No words in your name shall I embrace again,
for you have become a mere human,
a shadow of what I once crowned in my mind.
I searched your ashes for the remains of my name.
In your absence, I found your presence
your scent visiting me every minute,
every second in between
gentler to my heart than you yourself had ever been.
Or was it the mercy of the mind,
painting you in colors you never owned?
Perhaps it was my love,
watered so deeply, so endlessly,
that your colors washed away.
It kills the heart
to see its muse turn meaningless
to watch the beat that once skipped for your name
lose its rhythm.
Was it love?
No
it was admiration,
the kind that outlives even its author.
Blame may be cast on you,
yet all my heart ever wished
was a poem
the kind that empties the poet
but never reaches its receiver,
a poem burned somewhere in nowhere,
in the place where we
failed to load.
With my own tears
I witnessed a valley
where my beloved drowned.
But how does a lover
let the beloved sink?
So I cut my wings
and let you go.
You fell
and you were simply you:
a you without beauty,
without warmth,
a wall that could neither support
nor shield.
A wall.
It was you I decorated ..
with moons and thorns,
a world only I could inhabit.
You had everything
everything but me.
And you
you made me doubt.
You made me question.
Only to realize,
in the end,
that it was I
whom you pushed away,
not I who let go.
The days now that I escape
were once dreams I had already foreseen
but only in the disguise
of tears yet to come.
One day, I will tell them
in lines and rhymes,
in an ocean of souls
laced with sorrows
that throw arrows
into hearts already hollow.
I counted the wounds,
as though numbering them
could avenge my cuts with a hold.
Yet even as I held you,
my heart pulsed
so quietly, so simply,
that you faded
into nothing more
than a familiar face
Why coming nothing hurts the love was never poured in ur cup, .
Does it scare you to be just you, or does it free you to be just you,
Does it make those eyes shiver with joy to be just eyes for others but
In my poems stars, meteors , storms everything were they never a mere feature.
Or is it destined for humans to be just humans never meant to be held so high for they cut their own
wings.
Does it sadden you to travel in my memories, but I never stop to gaze, or admire, just
an ad I wait to skip.
