Just A Dream

He's so perfect though...

It was a day just like any other.. Amy was running late, rushing as she realized she had snoozed her alarm one too many times. As she quickly showered, her dog kept poking his head around the curtain waiting to go outside. Amy was already stressed out about being late, knowing she still needed to take him out and he would add an extra 10 minutes of sniffing around to find “just the right spot” to go potty. So, she hops out of the shower, brushes her teeth and applies lotion to her entire body, gets dressed then asks Moose if he’s ready to go outside. Moose’s ears perk up and he begins running back and forth between Amy and the door as he anxiously awaits to go relieve himself. They rush down the stairs and he makes his first stop at the AC unit where he lifts his leg, Amy is checking her watch religiously as time is moving so fast and Moose is taking his dear sweet time. Finally, he’s done, and she rushed him back upstairs to his crate then runs out the door to her car. As she’s pulling out of the driveway, she remembers her lunch is on the countertop, no time to turn around so she continues her way to work. She clocks in and begins her shift. Her phone chimes with a notification to her inbox…

As she heads into her morning meeting, coffee in hand she is greeted by her work husband Charles. If Charles is good for anything, it’s making Amy laugh. Charles asks Amy if she had seen the leaderboard yet, but they are quickly hushed as their DM walks into the room, the room falls silent. The DM, Rhyan, is a gregarious man but he commands respect. He welcomes everyone to the meeting and begins. Sales are good this month despite being in the middle of a never-ending pandemic, he points to the leaderboard; Amy is top three in sales, she is eager to make that top spot as the winner receives a $20,000 bonus! She’s excited. The meeting wraps up and Charles walks her back to her cubicle. Her phone chimes again, it was a request on Snapchat. Amy like any woman likes her social media- but Snap is her one platform she keeps personal so a request from someone she doesn’t know is peculiar. Who is Tristan? Amy accepts and immediately receives a message…

The day continues, Amy has new and improved insight on the day, these messages back and forth with a stranger have distracted her – but in a good way. She’s assisting customer after customer until a gentleman walks in at the end of the day and makes a purchase that puts her at the top of the leaderboard! Amy can’t believe it. She made the top spot at the end of the period and closed not only at #1 in her division but also winning the $20,000 top prize. Was mystery man good luck?

Amy stops on the way home and grabs a bottle of Rose and some food; self-care is what’s on the menu tonight. Tristan still has her caught up in conversation and she cannot help but smile when a notification comes through. As she’s running her bath, she begins to wonder how he has managed to have all her attention. Tristan asks what she is doing, and the Rosé has her feeling some type of way. She decides to spice it up a little bit, sends him a bath picture, you know, the kind where you see legs and bubbles. Sultry, sexy, and still innocent. Tristan is ready, he lets her know he’s looking up flights and he just MUST meet her. “There’s no way he’s single”, Amy thinks to herself with a slight giggle, he’s perfect. Amy does confirm he is single and right about now, she can afford some time off. She sends her DM an email letting him know she was taking Friday off, 2 days…

Over the next two days, Amy and Tristan grew increasingly closer. They were snapping back and forth from the time they woke up until one or the other fell asleep, usually, Amy, as she liked getting an early start to the day. Tristan had her days full of giggles at his jokes and adorable charm, he made her feel seen and heard. He hyped her up, made her feel like she had never felt before – loved. Tristan was fit, spent a lot of time in the gym, Amy loved being on the receiving end of his progress pics and workout videos. The conversation flowed effortlessly and seamlessly, Charles even poked fun that he had been replaced as she was so distracted.

Amy was distracted. The thoughts consumed her mind as she wondered what it would be like... Tristan picking her up at the airport, wrapping his arms around her, their first kiss, the laughs, and memories made the sex. She needed to focus. What was she going to wear? Tristan had already made it clear he was making “House Rules” that her wearing clothes were forbidden. She laughed but knew he kind of meant it. Maybe just some new lingerie will do, some heels, maybe a new red lipstick…

Amy boarded her flight, butterflies in her stomach as she shyly smiled at the flight attendant. She was feeling scared yet exhilarated. This was out of her norm by far, Amy would never hop on a plane to fly across the country to meet some random man. The group chat supported her though and she was feeling fully liberated. This could be forever, so why not? The flight was quick, before she knew it they were landing, and she was snapping Tristan to let him know she made it…

She walked out to the pick-up area... Heart beating out of her chest and trembling she didn’t even notice she was holding her breath. Her phone chimed. It was Tristan, she could breathe again. It was a snap of her, saying to look up with a smiley face. Amy looked up to see Tristan walking towards her, she screeched and ran towards him. He welcomed her with open arms, she hadn’t received a hug like that in what felt like forever. She was home. Tristan opened her door and loaded her bag. They began on their way to his house, he told her he had a surprise waiting for her. A surprise? Amy wondered. Amy wrapped her arm around Tristan’s as he drove, and he put his hand on her leg. She smiled as she thought to herself “this is what I’ve been waiting for.” They pull up to his home and Tristan jumps out to grab her bag and car door. As they approach the house door, he stops her and tells Amy to close her eyes. She hears him unlock the door and feels him grab her hand to lead her in. “Is this where I die?” Amy thought. Tristan tells her she can open her eyes now, Amy does. She gasps and covers her mouth in disbelief. This is not what she expected… Roses, petals covering the floor, balloons, a table set for two with a card and candles… Amy wondered what she ever did to deserve this. This was a first-time experience for her.

Tristan had to go into the office the next day, so Amy stayed back at the house, she relaxed for a bit then decided to take an Uber to Trader Joe’s. After last night, she wanted to cook for her man. She looked around for some paper and a pen to make a list of what she needed to buy. She looked around his desk and opened a drawer, picked up the loose papers to find a little black book. Amy didn’t want to pry so she put it back and used the notepad next to it. Off to shop she went. On the ride back from the grocery store the little black book crossed her mind again. What was it? What was in there? It wasn’t her book or her home, so it wasn’t her business. Amy unloaded the groceries and started preparing dinner, Tristan snapped at her, he was on his way and couldn’t wait to see her! Amy’s mind kept wandering back to that book. Not wanting to ruin the mood, Amy forced herself to focus on the moment and to be present. Tristan got home; he was so grateful she cooked a meal for him. It was as if he had never had a woman cook for him. Odd, Amy thought. Who wouldn’t want to serve this supreme being of a man? After dinner, Tristan went to take a shower. He asked Amy to join him, but she said she declined to clean the kitchen. Amy wasn’t cleaning the kitchen though; she was going to investigate what was in that book. She waited until the water was running for a few minutes then went to grab it. Amy opened the fine leather book. In the finest print, it read “This book belongs to Jessica.” Amy’s heart beating out of her chest, mind racing, who is Jessica? She turned the page, and then the next, followed by the next, she flipped through the book. It was letters to his wife…
