So Let's Discuss Gifts

It's The Holidays!

Ah, the holidays are back. I can already hear the wrapping paper being torn to reveal the presents in my mind.

But if you’re anything like me, you probably have difficulty picking presents for your friends and loved ones. And not necessarily because they’re challenging people to shop for.

So, I’m going to make it easier for you!

With these seven categories of five items per list, there should be plenty of variety for you to pick the perfect gifts.

For the Writer

Let’s face it; all of us here love anything with a typewriter on it. But other options exist for us and for other writers we know:

Yes, I included one typewriter-themed gift idea, but it was too cool not to put it on the list.

For the Gamer

These days, it feels like everyone dabbles in gaming. But for the hardcore gamer in your life, I would choose:

Hell, I might get a couple of these for myself, haha. Or the footrest, at least.

For the Coffee/Tea Lover

Being a coffee lover, I always appreciate incredible coffee bends, gadgets, or treats. But I also enjoy a good cup of tea. So here are some gift options:

I certainly would love all of these for gifts!

For the Pet Parent

By Mikhail Vasilyev on Unsplash

Having an adorable, pain-in-the-ass chihuahua, I know the urge to spoil our pets or ourselves with pet-themed items. And during the holidays, it’s particularly fun!

I know most of these are sentimental and not for the animals, but something about our pets makes us go gooey inside.

For the Home Chef

I know plenty of people who love to create wonderful flavors. And with the endless possibilities, it’s hard to go wrong gifting them something. But here are a few ideas:

I could easily list twenty or more ideas, as I love food and everything relating to it. But for the sake of brevity, I stuck to five.

Also, I have those measuring spoons, and they’re fantastic!

For the Crafter

Crafting can be a soothing hobby, whether cross stitching, diamond painting, card making, or even pottery. And they deserve the required tools, such as:

With these as presents, perhaps your crafter will create something for you in the future.

For the Artist

Nothing is more remarkable than seeing an artist expressing their creativity. And I’m confident we all know at least one person who paints or draws on canvas or a tablet.

I know any artist will love these. And I think the tabletop easel is genius.

Why Only Seven Categories With Five Per List?

Sure, I could have laid out a lot more. But I didn’t want to be overwhelmed or to overwhelm you with the paradox of choice.

And if I’d let myself think up every possible category or item, this post wouldn’t be published until New Year’s, which defeats the point of it being a holiday gift idea article.

What About Those Who Don’t Like Gifts?

To that, ask them why, and depending on their answer, either surprise them with something unique or respect their wishes.

I say this because I know people like that, and I’m often that person. It’s not that I don’t enjoy gifts. But my receiving love language is acts of service, so unless the gift falls into that, I probably won’t like it.

Wrapping Things Up

Love my pun? Me too.

Anyway, these lists should give you more than enough inspiration for everyone you plan on buying presents for!

And maybe a few for yourself, too. It certainly has for me.

Happy Holidays!
