Don Jazzy speaks his mind

During the interview, Don Jazzy spoke about writing "How Are You My Friend" and how he feels about musicians singing songs they did not write. Don Jazzy said:
DON JAZZY: When I produce, I write when I produce. It's like a problem. So as I'm producing, I'm thinking of the chorus at least. So most of the songs that I have or the beats that I have, they come with full songs. So like "How Are You My Friend", Johnny Drille is a level headed guy, he is an amazing human being, and he is confident in his own music. So I told him that I have this song that I recorded oh, it's a beautiful song and I feel like you're the best person that can carry it. So I said this song is nice, listen to it with my crocodile voice, and if you like it, we do it. Sometimes when you're a writer, you will sing [the song] so that at least [the artist] can understand the direction of the thing.
Sometimes I look at people when they say "oh this artiste didn't write their song", that shit doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean anything. Trust me, once another artiste sings it, they bring out a different feeling - they bring their own feeling to it. I still think that if Tekno sang "If", it wouldn't be "If". Like Davido actually brought his own thing inside and made the song his own. And so the delivery of David on it, it was believable, it was nice.
