How Can You Change Your Behavior and Become a Better Person?

This is not as hard as you think if you don't have a serious mental illness.

You know you have many flaws and you want to stop repeating the same mistakes, but it's not easy to have a positive attitude when you face problems or when others treat you badly.

In order to change behavior you need to go into therapy. I was greatly helped by Jung's method of interpreting my dreams, as the unconscious mind that produces dreams works like a doctor.

That's why I'm going to give you some tips so that you can improve your behavior even if you don't have the time or conditions to follow therapy, because I've learned what is necessary for that to happen, not only in my case but also by helping several other people to transform their personality by interpreting their dreams for them.

However, I need to emphasize that if you have a serious mental illness you cannot change your behavior based on your attempts.

If you had a childhood and adolescence marked by traumatic experiences and today you suffer from depression, neurosis, or another mental illness, be sure to learn how to translate your dreams with Carl Jung's method or consult a psychologist because you definitely need help.

If you have a significant mental disorder, you cannot change your behavior on your own since the primitive part of your brain has invaded your conscience and cannot be stopped by easy means.

The advice I will provide you in this post will only be helpful if you've led a regular life and simply need to quit acting inappropriately.

How To Begin

First of all, you should make a list and write down the negative attitudes you want to change.

Then write what you can do to improve.

For example, if you are very lazy, you know that you have to face your laziness and do what you must, even if it is unpleasant and tiring. So, your problem is not that you don't know how to change your behavior, but that you don't have the courage to do what is necessary.

Try to find ways to overcome laziness by doing what you need to do little by little so that you don't quickly get tired and discouraged.

In the same way, try to find solutions to all the negative behaviors you've noticed in yourself.

You will see that theoretically, it is not so difficult to understand what to do. What's really difficult is putting the solutions you find into practice.

The Best Technique for Changing Behavior

To be able to change and become a better person you need to stop apologizing saying that you can't do this or that, that you don't have time, that it doesn't depend on your will, etc.

Tell yourself that you need to push yourself and that after the initial struggle, you will feel better.

If your problem depends on other people's behavior because you can't control your anger when you're offended, or you don't know how to be nice and kind because you tend to be rude or indifferent, learn to be silent when someone irritates you or when you can't get a positive reaction.

Try to imitate the people you admire. Tell yourself that you are capable of being like them. Try to follow their example in every circumstance and you will see that it won’t be so hard to be wiser.

If you still can't change, don't be discouraged. Think that with time you will end up changing and keep trying.

The best technique to change behavior is persistence. If you don't give up, you will definitely get positive results, even if you take time, or even if you can't change completely.

You will be able to gradually improve if you don't stop trying to have the right attitude despite difficulties.

If it's all too hard for you, don't lose hope. Forgive yourself and keep trying.

The unconscious mind that produces dreams keeps repeating the same guidelines in several dreams until the person ends up understanding what to do and putting into practice the guidance they receive.

So, don't think you are the only one slow to change. Most people take a long time because everyone is used to acting in a certain way and it is difficult to change their attitude, but with time and practice everyone manages to have the right behavior in each situation.

Therefore, be persistent and you will surely achieve your goal.
