Donald John Trump is a businessman, television personality, and politician who served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021. He was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City.

Trump began his career in the family real estate business, eventually taking over the company and expanding it into a global empire. He gained public recognition in the 1980s and 1990s as a flamboyant and controversial real estate developer in New York City, known for his flashy lifestyle and outspoken personality.

In the early 2000s, Trump began to expand his brand into other areas, including television. He became the host and executive producer of the reality TV show "The Apprentice," which aired from 2004 to 2015. The show featured contestants competing for a job within the Trump Organization, and Trump became known for his catchphrase "You're fired!"

In 2015, Trump announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President of the United States. He campaigned on a platform of "Make America Great Again," promising to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, renegotiate trade deals, and restore jobs to the United States.

Trump's campaign was marked by controversy, including his comments about immigrants, Muslims, and women. Despite this, he won the Republican nomination and went on to defeat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

During his presidency, Trump was known for his unconventional and controversial style, frequently using Twitter to communicate with the public and making decisions that were seen as divisive. He faced numerous controversies, including allegations of collusion with Russia during the 2016 election, impeachment proceedings, and criticism of his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, Trump sought re-election but was defeated by Democratic nominee Joe Biden. After leaving office, Trump continued to be a controversial figure in American politics, with ongoing legal issues and speculation about his political future.

He is faced several crises in his own time

During his presidency, Donald Trump faced several crises that had significant impacts on the United States. Here are some of the most notable ones:

COVID-19 pandemic: Trump faced criticism for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. He downplayed the threat of the virus early on, refused to wear a mask in public, and promoted unproven treatments like hydroxychloroquine. He was also criticized for his administration's response to the pandemic, including shortages of personal protective equipment and slow distribution of vaccines.

Racial justice protests: In the summer of 2020, the United States saw widespread protests and civil unrest following the killing of George Floyd, a Black man, by a white police officer in Minneapolis. Trump was criticized for his response to the protests, which included threatening to use military force against protesters and stoking divisions with his rhetoric.

Immigration: Trump's administration faced criticism for its policies on immigration, including family separation at the border and attempts to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. He also faced criticism for his attempts to restrict travel from several Muslim-majority countries.

Political polarization: Trump's presidency was marked by significant political polarization in the United States, with his rhetoric and actions often being seen as divisive. He frequently attacked the media and political opponents, and his impeachment proceedings in 2019 and 2021 further deepened political divisions.

Capitol riot: On January 6, 2021, a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Trump was impeached for incitement of insurrection in connection with the riot, making him the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice.
