‘Boredom comes’, a phrase we may have heard over and over in every child's mouth. If there is not a single event that can keep the child active or interested, then the child gets bored. In earlier times when a child was bored, he would be distracted by a toy, a story or a game.

Now the phone is held in his hand. Anyway, in the midst of this boredom we all grow up and with us that boredom also grows.

Now, instead of complaining about 'getting bored', we start looking for ways to get out of it on our own. Whether it is mobile, laptop or TV, we have to accept that we are resorting to 'screen' the most to get rid of boredom.

What a curiosity that in spite of such short days and short life, sometimes our time does not pass! Although there is no definite definition of it, boredom is a state in which a person is unhappy due to lack of stimulating, motivating, interesting or entertaining activity in the environment around him.

A dry or dull state that surrounds him is bored because he has nothing to do or does not enjoy doing it even though he has to do it.

In short, boredom means lack of enthusiasm, energy and excitement. Sometimes I get bored because there is no work or activity, sometimes I get bored because I have to do one thing over and over again. As the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer put it, "the pendulum of life swings between pain and boredom.

" And how true! Boredom is a familiar and permanent state between pain and relief, sorrow and happiness, failure and success, pleasure and loneliness. When we do not feel any emotion, we feel bored. Human beings are so thirsty for ‘innovation’ that a happy person longs for the same change that a miserable person desires in his life.

Whether it is a relationship or a circumstance, whether it is love or a situation, whether it is a talk or an atmosphere, nothing that has settled down is suitable for us. Stability, continuity and regularity are boring, and that's why we run away from it.

But the mystery is that boredom is inevitable in order to achieve anything significant in life. Author James Clear writes in his book, Atomic Habits, that "the greatest danger to success is not failure, but boredom.

" Good habits make us bored very quickly because repetition breeds dullness. 'But only those who can befriend boredom can succeed.

There are two types of boarding: micro-boarding and macro-boarding. What we experience in our daily activities is micro-boredom. Activities like doing lessons, going to the gym, exercising, doing some professional work etc. that we have to do every day can get boring. The reason? Lack of innovation. Repetition means dullness.

This micro-boarding prevents us from exercising regularly, reading a book, meditating or even achieving our goals.

Macro-boarding can be an activity that you have been doing for a long time, but you are not getting the expected results, rewards, appreciation or promotion.

Because of this macro-boredom, some people change jobs every two years, start new relationships, or try to do something new by leaving their work unfinished. In short, both micro and macro barriers hinder us from reaching our long term goals.

There is only one cure for this boredom. Instead of trying to recover, they wallow in their sadness and thus, experience more failure. It is important to understand that boredom is not a dangerous or fatal condition.

So being in a 'boring' state is not harmful to health. In fact, it is a prerequisite for long-term success. Our success depends on how much time we can spend in that state without getting bored and without the help of any stimulant medium.

Not only sound education but his alertness and dedication too are most required. It is said that ‘Boredom is the precursor of creativity.’ When we are bored, our mind wanders freely.

At the same time, suddenly a creative idea, trick or plan is born from somewhere. Fantasy stories, scientific experiments or researches that amaze the world are born out of boredom.

Boredom is the most productive way for creative people. And finally happiness.

Sitting quietly in the absence of activity is a prerequisite for spiritual progress. The same condition that we call boredom results in meditation after a certain age.

Happiness is if we can make peace with the present moment without any kind of dissatisfaction, expectation or complaint.

If there is unhappiness, impatience or dissatisfaction inside us in the present moment, then it is boring for us and if there is contentment, laughter or peace in that moment, then the same state is happiness for us.

After all, the ultimate goal is to cultivate a lasting friendship.
