If you're an ER nurse, then getting a TNCC or even some sort of field trauma cert might be a great way to go.

As with any profession, networking is an invaluable tool for success as a travel nurse.

Whether you are attending conferences or joining Facebook groups related to travel nursing, take the time to build relationships with other professionals in the field who have been where you are now and can provide valuable insight into navigating the industry.

In my experience as a long-time traveler, the network you create doesn't just help you through the current gig but actually remains with you for many contracts going forward.

3. Tap Into Resources Available Through Employers

Most employers offer access to learning resources such as courses and e-learning programs that help nurses stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in healthcare technology.

Take advantage of these opportunities whenever possible; they will not only help you grow professionally but may also be beneficial when it comes time for performance reviews or salary negotiations down the road.

And I bet there's not a single travel RN who would NOT want to be paid more as they learn more.

4. Utilize Social Media Platforms Wisely

Many nurses have found success using social media platforms such as LinkedIn. Instagram and Twitter to promote their services and connect with potential employers or job postings.

It is important, however, that you use these tools wisely—be sure that whatever information you post on social media is professional and reflects well upon yourself as an experienced healthcare practitioner!

Remember, when you seek a new contract, whether with the same recruiter or not, social media is the first place they will look!
