Float the boat
A never ending story on relationships, love and family

Part 1.
“It is Sunday” as I crawl out of bed grunting. I wake up sweating, balling tears, another nightmare has crept in the night. This was no ordinary nightmare and it always seems to be the same one. I’m running naked with one shoe on fighting for my life in a forest with Clowns. Gosh I hate clowns. Growing up clowns was a normal part of birthday parties, movies and stupid school events ,but that never swayed my fear for these white faced creatures we call clowns. As I scroll on Twitter, swinging my feet in the air, laying in bed with my black muscle shirt and yellow panties on I notice a familiar face hit my timeline. An ex, she was gorgeous as ever with her carmel brown skin and bright red hair posing for her graduation pictures. As I double tap the picture I couldn’t help but to notice her profile picture. I clicked her profile and became sad when I noticed she was getting married to her roommate of five years. I instantly got off Twitter with the slight feeling of regret for things ending the way they did so I just laid in bed watching law and order till the sun came up.
Tomorrow is the first day I get to work my dream job. I’m estacic and overwhelmed with joy to finally start in my career field as a registered nurse. Today is about relaxing and preparing for my big day tomorrow. I’m still bummed out about my red head beauty ,but I refuse to let that take my day away so I get up and start making lunch. As I finish lunch I decide to go to the car wash and the mall for some retail therapy. I throw on a blue sundress and put my loc’s in a bun and head out the door. As I walk out the door I noticed my phone ring and I got a notification from my Twitter account. I instantly became nervous once I saw it was from my red hair beauty. I was in shock I couldn’t believe what I was seeing before my eyes ,but with everything in me I did not open the message. I left the message to sit there for a while and begin to walk out the door. I did not want to deal with anything that was negative or anything they can ruin my day so I just ignored it like I didn’t see it. Driving to the car wash began to brighten my day. As I was listening to Rod wave my mind started to wonder about the Twitter message. What if she wants to hang out or rectify our relationship and I’m just letting it sit there. What could she possible want after I liked a picture she just posted. My mind was in a whirl as I questioned myself on the possible message from her,but I continued to the mall as I promised myself to just wait till I got back home.
The mall was packed and crowed as usual as I rush through the large groups of people with my head held high looking for my favorite shoe store. I finally walk in with the mind of finding some cute black stilettos for this new dress I ordered online a few days ago. It’s a yellow fitting dress with a black string to lace the back up and it shows just the right amount of cleavage to make anybody turn their head. You see I’m a curvy slim fit 5”6 Chocalate beauty with a pair of D’s to die for and this dress complements all of that and more. My plan is to go to a nice upscale bar in the middle of town. Las Vegas is known for it’s amazing tourist area ,but after living there for six years the area has lost its touch for me.
After trying on shoe after shoe I finally think I found the perfect pair. It’s a beautiful black stiletto with a nice six inch heel with lace looping around my ankles. As I make my purchase and head out the mall I grab a vanilla milkshake with extra whip cream for the ride. I start walking to my car and notice a small note on my car. “Your beauty is amazing and it took my breath away. Love, your new secret admirer”as I read this note getting into my car I start to look around because honestly this is sweet ,but really creepy. I head home with this note sitting on my mind on top of the Twitter message I begin to get anxious. I hate this feeling of butterflies in my stomach for no reason. This note is from someone completely random and this message shouldn’t be no bigge seeing as we’ve talked thousands of times. I walk in the door of my house and do my usual routine. I strip down from head to toe and walk into the kitchen to figure out what to eat for dinner. As I think about what I have in the kitchen to eat I walk to my bathroom and start a bubble bath to ease the day and prepare for the tomorrow.
The night eases down and as I am getting ready for bed I start to think about that Twitter message from my once beloved girlfriend. I moisturize my face, lay in the bed and start to scroll on Twitter. I took a few moments to check my news feed and check for any new post before deciding to actually check the message. As I get ready to go to my inbox I get a phone call from my mom. With a slight feeling of relief I answered and gave my mom the tea about the secret admirer at the mall. We laughed a little and made plans to have a family gathering later in the week. Once we got off the phone I instantly saw the message. My heart and mouth dropped as my eyes got big reading every word, “ hey girl, long time no talk. Just wanted to apologize for how things we earlier this year and thought you would like an invite to my wedding. I know we did not leave on the best foot but you have been apart of my life for so long I would really appreciate your presence but I do understand if you choose not to. Here is the link and just RSVP or text me if you have any questions. Feel free to bring a plus one. Maybe we could talk thou. Hope to hear from you soon” as I starred each word letter from letter my eyes begin to water. How in the world does she think I could just watch her get married in front of me. Who does she think she is and why does she think I’m the person she needs to be there. I cried and cried as I laid down looking for some comfort in between these lonely sheets.
