Fire Diner

All the best love stories have one thing in common. You have to go against the odds to get there. Our journey begins after Bethany's husband of eight years cheated and they divorced. She was a single mom of two boys struggling paycheck to paycheck. She loved living life to the fullest and giving back to the community even if she did not have much to give.

One cold evening in December, Bethany decided to attend a fundraiser at the local diner. She arrived and sat in her jeep looking at the blinking sign open 24 hours. She thought I do not know anyone but it is for a good cause so she locked her jeep doors and walked in the door. She purchased 10 raffle tickets and sat down at the bar to order her food and drink. A few people came up introduced themselves and made small talk. Bethany finished her meal as the raffles were being called so she turned around to watch who won. She never wins she thought. I am the most unlucky person here. The past had made her question her value and if she was enough and her luck. As the raffle winners were called she sat enjoying watching people. The final five tickets were being drawn and they called her name for the 50/50 drawing. The winnings included one hundred and fifty dollars and a t shirt. The amount of the winnings as enough to catch up her electric bill that she had received a disconnect notice on the day before. Shocked, she accepted her winnings and thought " God works in mysterious ways." They announced they wanted to take a picture of all the winners for the missions website. As she walked up to take the picture, she noticed a green eyed handsome bald guy, she thought wow he is a looker. He spoke to her first " hey there, are you here with this organization or just stopping in for dinner." " I am here as part of the organization." They got into position and took the picture. Afterward she went to sit back down. Mister handsome was walking her way. They made small talk his name was Westley. As the event ended he asked for Bethany's number. She had promised herself she had to protect her heart due to the past so she said no but we can chat on messenger so they found each other on messenger and went separate ways.

A few days went by and Westley messaged Bethany first. They began talking on messenger and found that they had more and more in common. Westley asked Bethany out but she worked every weekend and he was working during the week. So they continued to talk on messenger until Westley said ok when can you take lunch I will meet you anywhere just so I can see you again beautiful. They set a date to for lunch at the diner they first saw each other at.

When Bethany arrived he was already inside. She was so nervous and she had butterflies. She checked herself out out in the mirror and walked into the diner. As she walked toward him his entire body smiled when he caught sight of her. They embraced and Westley stated glad we could finally get together. They sat and ate and talked. When they laugh together there's magic that can't be ignored. They finished lunch and he walked her to her jeep and opened the door for her. He said " it was an amazing time." She turned and said "yes Westley it was an amazing lunch. Can not wait to see you again." She went to hug him and he embraced her then kissed her lips. His mouth hard on hers. She could feel the rapid beat of his heart. Her heart was beating like a hammering of butterflies wings. She climbed into her jeep and he closed the door and she drove away. Her mind racing with all kinds of thoughts. She thought " The was the best kiss of her life, cant wait for more." That evening he messaged her and she gave him her phone number. That was the first night of many long deep conversations. They would talk for hours until they had to go to bed so they could work the next day. They set up the second date.

The second date was two days before valentines day so they decided they would buy each other something. Bethany came up with a sweet 6 small bottles of alcohol and chocolate gift and Westley had a thoughtful gift as well. They both arrived and walked into the restaurant together. He pulled her chair out and handed her a rose. Westley said "let's order than we can exchange gifts." "ok". They ordered the meal and then Westley took Bethany by the hands and looked into her eyes. He said " For the first time in a long time I am so excited to see where this leads." " I agree handsome" Bethany gave him his gift he opened the first of six the first one was a small bottle of Tennessee whiskey and it had a note that said " You are a smooth as Tennessee whiskey" he opened the second which was a small bottle of Jack Daniel's fire and it had a note that said " Your personality is fire" the third one was a small bottle of Jack Daniel's honey with a note that said " I may not call you honey yet but i can see us get there." The fourth one was a Hershey kiss with a note that said " Your kisses give me butterflies." the fifth one was a small bottle of fireball with a note that said " your hotter than a fireball" the last gift was a small bottle of maker mark with a note that said " You made a mark on my heart." Westley kissed Bethany and said " i have to say that was the most thoughtful gift and i love it. Now your gift has a story with it." "ok handsome tell me the story" Ok he handed her a nickel. "What is that for Wes?" " My mom when she was still living and as i grew up always sang the song a penny for your thoughts, a nickel for your kisses. So i thought that when you or I want a kiss we can pass the nickel back and forth." then he handed her the nickel. Bethan kissed his lips softly and her heart melted. The next gift he pulled out was a homemade wood box the he said " this is a box for us to fill with memories and mementos together." again her heart melted. The third gift was a sign he started " this sign says go your own way I got it for you because in one of our conversations you said you want to go on a journey and not think about what anyone else thinks just do what makes us happy and I totally admired that. " The fourth gift was a candle that smelled like bonfires " Bethany in one conversation you said your favorite smell was fires on a fall night and that stuck with me I hope you love your gifts." She bit her lip and gave him the nickel and went in for a kiss. Sparks flew around each other their temperatures skyrocketed. The connection was undeniable. Their bond made sparks fly, fiercely magnetic they started their journey together after that night making it official they were a couple. They had passion the kind of passion songs were written about. Now both knew happily ever after made sense the second their eyes met.
