Even the strongest of us sometimes get tired of suffering, constant rejection, and attempts at manipulation by others. What is certain is that a strong heart is not necessarily cold or less sensitive to love. We all have our borders, but those individuals who are used to actively resisting suffer even more than other people.

We are often mistaken in believing that an emotionally strong person is someone who knows how to control their feelings. Today, despite the ease with which the term "emotional intelligence" is used everywhere, we are left with misconceptions. For example, it refers to the belief that emotions are a concept opposite to reason and logic.

Imagining a man with a strong heart, we instantly choose the one who hides behind thick armor. The one who does not lose his clean and determined gaze, keeping under control this cruel and demanding world of love and feelings. But a strong personality does not always correspond to this idea.

Such people appear only in front of you, like the mast of a lifeboat in a night storm. They are like a stone that you can safely step on when you try to cross the river. On the outside, they look strong, but only until they simply break and get tired.

The tired heart is strong

When talking to a psychologist, people first talk about their state of fatigue - that they are much more tired than ever before. They are shocked, angry and feel that they have reached the limit of their abilities. They have simply lost their "vital energy."

Help is sought not only by unbalanced people who do not know how to deal properly with their emotions. Often patients are the ones who understand the depth of stress quite well and are aware of the existence of conflicts in their lives. Work productivity and self-care were in the grip of fatigue and they stopped recognizing their reflection in the mirror.

"It simply came to our notice then. What happened to me? "

The brain simply told them "enough." If they go deep into themselves, they will surely find an excessive amount of responsibility on their shoulders and heart. They are not strong people, but people who are used to exercising excessive (and unhealthy) resistance.

These men and women suppress their need to look strong. Thus, they become the constant light of a beacon for others. And instead, they usually see only bitterness, egocentrism, and loneliness.

It's time to take care of yourself

You don't have to take a break. You need to be strong for your good and not just the good of others. And for that, you need to change and redirect your daily activities to a more harmonious, consistent, and healthy channel. Stop for a moment and consider the following options:

Avoid conflicts, problems, and situations that have no solution. You've already wasted enough time and energy on things and people you didn't deserve!

Don't expect people to act the way you want them to. This inevitably leads to disappointment. When you have zero expectations, on the other hand, it's more difficult to get sad by other people's actions.

Recognize your needs. Listen to them daily, make them your priority.

But most importantly, remember that you are not a hero. Your job is not to do the impossible. You are not a magician, much less a bridge builder who connects non-existent shores.

You cannot save what cannot be saved. And you can't make someone happy who doesn't know what joy, respect, and reciprocity are. Learn to take care of yourself emotionally and be strong for your good.

If you manage to find your balance, your heart will stay stronger and you will be happier.
