Dave lived a normal life, sleep, eat, and repeat. His life motto was based off this simple phrase but one he lived by. He woke up one morning and found a marigold flower sitting on his nightstand. Where could this flower possibly have come from? All the windows were shut. He didn't have any garden and lived alone. Dave got up and picked up the flower.

Was this a symbol? Or was someone just trying to mess with him? He got up, went to the kitchen and noticed that his fridge was a little low. After he finished eating his breakfast he got up to go to the market. He did not have a car so he had to walk there. During his walk he noticed a field of Marigold flowers. Was this just an illusion or were these new? Dave blew it off and figured maybe the wind blew the flower into his house somehow. He went and got all the groceries then went back home to sleep.

Later that evening when he woke up he noticed there was another marigold flower sitting on the nightstand. This time he knew it wasn’t an accident he knew that the flower had to be placed there. So he got out of bed and ate dinner afterwards he went to the man down the street who had the Marigold Flowers. He knocked on the door, knock knock. A man answered, “Dave! What are you doing here? How are you? Hey Honey Dave is here!” The man's wife was just as shocked what is Dave doing at their doorstep?

Dave then replied “Hey Ben I am good. I actually came over to ask some questions about your marigold flowers. Have you been putting them in my house?” Ben was puzzled why would he be putting flowers from the garden in Dave's house? He told him that he wouldn’t be randomly putting flowers in his house. Dave then went to the store and bought a security camera. He took it back home and set it up. He had a security camera facing his nightstand to catch whoever it was.

The next morning when he woke up, once again sitting on the nightstand was the marigold flower. He got up and checked the security footage to see what was going on. This lady with long blonde hair had been coming into his house laying one marigold flower on his nightstand, however he did not recognize the woman that was in the footage. He thought to himself what is wrong with this woman? Why would she break into my house and lay these flowers on his nightstand was she ill?

He took the photo he got of her from the security and went out to find out who she was. He started at the market where he saw an old friend of his. He went up to him and asked if he knew who she was but he didn’t know. He kept asking no one seemed to know who she was though. This was a small town everyone knew everyone so how could she have possibly gone unnoticed. There were few people left at the market to ask. In fact there was only one person left to ask. Marci! He couldn’t stand Marci! All she ever talked about was just the most irritating stuff. He didn't want to talk to her but he had to find out who this woman was.

He walked up to her and showed her the photo then asked if she knew who that was. To his shock she said yes! How did she of all people know her? He asked her who and where she was. Her name was Jacky and stayed in the South side of town right on the border. Dave went down there and found the house she lived in. He went up and knocked on the door, knock knock. There was no answer, so he tried again, knock knock. This time she answered the door. She had long curly blonde hair. She had blue eyes that were like looking into the blue ocean. In her hair was a marigold flower. When she saw him she smiled. The feeling he got when she smiled was like feeling the warmth of the sun after a long night of freezing cold darkness.

Dave had never felt these emotions before he never felt this way. He asked her why she had been putting these flowers in his house to which she told him, “I noticed that all you do is eat and sleep. It looked lonely. I wanted you to come out and get to know people so that you would be happy. I wanted to see you enjoy life more.” Dave never met someone with a heart as pure as hers before. He invited her out to dinner but she declined, telling him that all he ever does is eat and told him to try something new. They went to the town square where they were doing a talent show that evening.

They sat there for hours watching as each person showed off their talents. It was a tryout so anyone could get on stage. Dave told Jacky they should go up there and try out to which she agreed. They got on stage and started dancing together. It may have been the worst tryout that day but they had a lot of fun. After just 1 week of knowing Jacky, Dave felt like he loved her. Like she was the one meant for him. After all the years he had been alive he never liked someone so much in his life. She was a blessing in disguise. The next day Dave went to the jewelry store which was also the only furniture store in town. He had Greg, who was the jeweler, make a special ring that was meant to mimic a marigold flower.

Once he got the ring he went to Jacky to propose to her. However when he got to her house he saw a bunch of movers out front, he asked one of them what they were doing and he was told that the lady who owned the house had died. No! How could this be? She can’t die! He was going to marry her! He broke down crying in the middle of her lawn; he wasn’t ready for her to die. His heart was hurting so bad he loved her so much.

Every day he would go to her house and leave a marigold flower on the doorstep. Even though he was hurting from her death he couldn’t let it ruin his life, so he started going out to hang out with friends. After years he even started dating again.
