They made it home just before it turned dark. The sun was gone and the air had grown cool . Thunder rumbled in the distance. Sounds like we’re in for a little rain, John said.

He stood near her as she dug in her purse for her keys. The warm clean scent of his body reached her nostrils and she felt her pulse quicken in an totally surprising way. She slipped the key into the lock, pushed open the door and a yellow light from the lamp dispelled the darkness that had quickly fallen. Without looking at him she stepped though the threshold and he followed.

Jill’s place she felt was cozy and neat. Fresh flowers were in vases everywhere. Books lined the whole wall, and a large over stuffed sofa of mustard in color dominated the room facing the stone fire place. To the left she saw her antique trestle pine table near the window. She could smell the scents of her many herbs resting on the windows till.

Come in and have a seat, she said to John.

He sat down on the sofa. He watched her as she started to make a fire in the fireplace.

He stood up and came over to help.

Here, let me do that, he insisted.

Alright. Jill let him take over.

Would you like some coffee?

Yes- he replied.

Great- I’ll make some.

She brought him a mug of hot steaming coffee.

The fire began to burn brightly. The sat in the plush soft sofa staring into the orange flames in sweet silence, sipping their coffee.

She had only been here a week yet she had fallen in love with the area.

Now, here she was with the man of her dreams.

It was all so strange how she had twisted her ankle and on visiting emergency at the local hospital, she had met him. He was the Dr. who help her with her twisted ankle. They were instantly attracted to each other and they couldn’t stay away from each other.

They had spent the whole day at the beach and she had made a picnic out of it. He loved the say she looked in her daring red bathing suite. They swim and afterwards relaxed on the Sandy beach, watching the sun go down. He had given her a beautiful gold bracelet. She was feeling like she was in a wonderful dream where she never wanted to wake up. Then one night when she was getting ready for bed, something crashed though her window. She screamed and saw it was a rock with a note attached to it. This was too much! The strange phone calls with no one saying when ever she answered it and now this attack at her home. She opened the note. It read, Leave John alone or you will be sorry!

She immediately called John and he came over. He refused to leave her alone and spent the night.

So that was the night when she found out that John last girlfriend didn’t want to give him up. A crazy girlfriend that had found out about them. It was also the first time they made love and she knew that no matter what she said, she didn’t ever want to be without him in her life.

They tried to stop seeing each other , but it was no use they loved each other too deeply. He often would just show up at her door and she would fall into his arms.

Then one day she remembered, as she was leaving her office, his x- girlfriend was waiting outside for her.

John had called her and warned her. She called the police and John came and told her the girl off and that it was over. She speeded away in her car but that was it for Jill. She refused to see him anymore.

This was the first time they had seen each other when he almost begged her to go to dinner with him.

So here she was feeling hopeless and hopelessly deeply in love with him.

She tried to think of something to talk about something safe that would ease the tension between them.

The storm broke and the rain slashed against the wwindows. The lightening lit up the room from the window and a clash of thunder filled the room.

Jill, he said as he put his coffee down on the table.

There is something I have to talk to you about.

I know John! She turned and stared at him and tears began to fall.

You are leaving tomorrow- going to the girl you promise to marry.

She put her mug on the coffee table and stood up and stood facing the fireplace.

He got up went snd put his arms around her waist and his mouth close to her ear.

Our troubles with her are over.

Jill turned around looking him deeply and seriously.

What did you say? She asked him in disbelief.

I said it is over- she finally got it! She met someone new and they eloped and moved to Nebraska.. She won’t ever bother us again.

I couldn’t bear the thought of not seeing you again- holding you -I missed you so much!

I haven’t been the same since I met you. I need you. Jill. She held her breath and closed her eyes as his lips warm and tender found hers. She returned his kiss. They held on to each other.

I love you, he whispered in her ear.

I love you too, she sweetly replied.

Let’s get marry,

He asked.

Now? She looked at him in surprise.

Yes. We can drive to Las Vegas and by tomorrow morning you will be Mrs.John Wright.

Well—— okay. We don’t have to go to Vegas.

There is. 24 hour chapel in the next town.

Okay! He said. That is even better!

Baby, you’ve made me the happiest man in the whole wide world.

They kiss passionately..

Jill goes and gets dress in a pink suite she secretly had been saving for a special occasion. She put on her pink diamond earrings and pink heels.

The rain was pouring down outside and slashing against the windows of the small chapel as they gaze deep into each other’s eyes and kissed when the pastor pronounced them husband and wife!!
