My best Friend and I decided to start an anual best friends date weekend a few years ago. What better place to start off than Las Vegas! One of our favorite cities to experience! We set out exploring the strip and Fremont street, experiences random concerts and bars and clubs. Of course when you’re in Vegas you should do something extremely random like go get piercings and tattoos! That’s exactly what we did. We had a couple drinks and walked to the nearest tattoo shop on the strip. We both got our nose pierced and we each got different tattoos! It was amazing. Living life having random fun and meeting new people. One of the happiest moments of my life. I decided to get a family Tattoo that day, it was an Infinity symbol with the word LOVE written in red! It wasn’t the best work but still a great experience to share with my bestie. After out tattooes We walked over to strip burger for a meal before our night of top golf and clubbing. As we finished our burgers we were debating on starting our night early or going inside for a quick break. Bestie decides she wanted to take a quick breather and change clothes before finishing the night. When we arrive in our hotel room we receive a call from another friend who is stranded at the airport she tells us everything is completely shut down and she’s wondering what’s happening outside. At that moment we look out of our window and we see cops everywhere people running. We are receiving calls from our hotel telling us to basically barricade in our rooms stay put we are on lock down, there are shooters on the strip. We are completely terrified and confused. This was the night in early October where a gunman opened fire on a country music concert right across the street from where we headed! A night we will never forget. The people the sirens the blood in the streets, how empty the entire strip was when we were finally able to leave our hotel. I thought long and hard about covering the tattoo, for one because of the quality and also because of that night and what I would remember Every single time I looked at it. I decided to keep the tattoo exactly as it was and dedicate it to all of the people who lost their lives that night in the midst of the same wonderful experience we were having. It’s now a symbol of love and life that I will carry with me forever!
