Dear Best Friends:

How times flies and no one would ever imagine what “Best Friends,” is until its time to show your True Colors on the matter.

It all started at a Video Store named "It's Another Video" on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Working together thru all kinds of Weather and Early Morning Openings and Late Night Closing especially on Weekends, which were followed by Late Night Dinners at Five Star Restaurants on Avenue U in Brooklyn, New York that could have run way into the morning hours.

What are truly Best Friends?

A Best Friend is a friend who you meet and never let go of.

I remember when my Best Friends would work late on those Weekends at this Video Store thru all kinds of Weather . . . (Cold, Freezing, Rain, Sunshine and would never Complain about it.)

I also remember going away too, Study Over Seas and thinking this would be the last time I would see my Best Friends, but guess what I was wrong.

A true Best Friend is one that will go visit you Over Seas bring you a Gift or Two, take time out of they’re busy Vacation Schedule just to do that. That Best Friend that now has missed some important History Classes just to be there.

A Best Friend is one who does not judge you for whom you are or whom Society has Labeled you as for you are dating someone that they truly despised due to their Political Beliefs.

That Best Friend is the one that “Beats around the Bush,” before telling you the truth about whom that person really is and what is the true reason he is with you.

A Best Friend is the one who will leave you “Crying at the Airport,” for you now have to say Good - Bye and you wish that your Best Friend would stay with you forever.

A Best Friend is the one who runs to the Hospital thru all kinds of weather if you were the one in that Hospital Bed fighting for your Life.

A Best Friend is the one who will come to your home just to Cut and Style and Color your hairs for now you are all laid up in a Hospital Bed at Home.

A Best Friend will brush your hair and sponge bath you for now the Golden Years have fallen upon you.

A Best Friend is the one who will include you in their Holiday Home Dinners and share their Secret Recipes with you.

A Best Friend is the one who will sing with you no matter how Bad or Good you are.

A Best Friend will be the one who will bring you a brand-new Puppy Dog when your Old Dog dies and cries with you.

A Best Friend is hard to find, so the saying goes . . . Make New Friends, but Keep the Old . . . One is Silver and the other Gold.

I have been blessed to have Best Friends like Big Theresa, Hair Stylist Theresa, Debbie, Angela, Big Noel, Anna, Little Noel, Eli, Junior and Mario, Milta, China, Lisa and Doug the Sandwich Maker.

If your Name has not made my “List of Best Friends,” is because you are still in the Silver Status. To be a “Gold Best Friend” you need to work hard in becoming a “Best Friend.”

I hope that all those who understand what a true Best Friend is declaring it for One Day you will miss your "Best Friend" for they have passed on and you never got the chance to say . . . Thanks’ You for being my True and Loyal Best Friend.

I hope that this Open Letter Express my Gratitude to my Best Friends whom I know I could always rely on upon thru thick and thin.
