A Romantic Adventure for Two
A date to cherish and remember with joy.
My perfect date would bring me a bouquet of hand picked flowers with blue, lavender, and white blooming colors. As soon as our eyes meet we both smile broadly and laugh softly, anticipating a wonderful day and evening ahead.
It is a beautiful, warm spring day and my date and I decide to go to the beach for a picnic. We have sandwiches, chips, grapes and water and enjoy the lovely breeze and warm sun hitting our faces. He holds my hand after lunch and we enjoy a long walk on the beach before splashing into the ocean and riding the waves.
As sunset approaches we throw on some warmer clothes over our dried bathing suits, and head for an outside straw covered bar where we listen to some contemporary rock music, and enjoy some cheese and a glass of Merlot wine.
After leaving the beach, we walked into town and discovered a quaint Italian restaurant with votive candles on the table, and soft music playing in the background. We ordered different entrees, and shared a sampling of our dishes, he ordered the veal parmesan with spaghetti and I ordered the spinach lasagna. We each had a glass of Merlot at dinner. The meal was wonderful, and we talked about our families, and activities that we each enjoyed as a break from our work. We learned that we had many things in common such as our love of adventure novels. spectator sports, particularly football and baseball and Olympic diving and gymnastics. We are both close to our families and stay in touch with our loved ones. We like to walk and enjoy exercise classes. Reading and keeping up with current events, and political, social and environmental issues we learned were also important to both of us.
After dinner we went for a walk on the boardwalk and stopped to have some ice cream. We played some pinball machines and ring toss and water balloon games and my date won a big brown stuffed bear for me.
I took my date's hand and he smiled at me. There was real chemistry between us. I didn't want our date to end and I was hoping he felt the same. The stars were so bright that night and we grabbed some blankets from the car and found a patch of grass and we gazed up and saw what seemed like a million stars. We danced to music playing on the radio under the star filled sky. My date was whispering how beautiful I looked and how nice it was to have me in his arms under the stars. I whispered back that I was having the best time and that I would remember this wonderful night we shared.
We next drove to my apartment and hugged and my date kissed me gently. We both wanted to see each other again, and we talked about going to a Phillies game the following weekend. I was wondering how fast the week would go until I saw him again.
You might be wondering where I met such a kind and wonderful man. It really happened when he transferred to the store where I had been working for a month a half. We worked side by side during the Christmas rush. He was attractive with sandy blonde hair, round glasses and a great personality. We had such fun working together, and made each other laugh over simple and silly things. I thought about him for months as he started working at another business because he needed more hours.
I went to see him a few times at his new work location, and told him I missed our friendly conversations and our laughing out loud good times.
Many months after we met, he came to the store where I was working, and asked if I would like to have lunch with him. I said yes, and that was he start of our romantic adventure. I still get that excited feeling down deep when I see him, when we are together, when we are holding hands, and when he and I kiss. And whether we are out on the town, or watching a movie, or making a simple dinner for two, we value all the time we have to spend together.
