A Generation of Rakes

I say this with the utmost disturbance: this generation we are currently living in is filled with rakes. Both male and female. If you are wondering what a rake is, go search it online or watch Bridgerton. I am not about to go into detail about it. Anyway, this generation is out of this world — in other words, "fucked up."

These days, when it comes to courtship, people seem to skip the most sacred step of dating: getting to know each other. They seem to prefer getting to know each other's private parts rather than each other's hearts. First dates are no longer about discovering each other's hobbies or personalities — they're about getting into each other's pants. Instead of dates, it's hookups. Instead of steady relationships, it's situationships. And if there somehow is a relationship, there's always a side piece. Excuse me — this is not the McDonald's drive-through. Make it make sense.

I know for a fact that 90% of people in this generation have sex with each other before actually going on dates or getting into relationships. It really sparks a debate in this thing I call my brain. Like, are they dating now because they slept together first? Or is it because they genuinely like each other? Sex is supposed to be the last stage of a relationship — after getting to know each other and falling in love. But no, it's the first thing this generation does before taking even the first step. It's like we UNO reversed dating priorities.

Another thing that is so common in this generation is what we call "friends with benefits" or "one-night stands." There is no judgement here — but it disgusts me, truly. Before you get offended, remember I am not writing this about you specifically; these are just my thoughts. What disgusts me is not the people — it's that society is normalizing it. People seem to see no problem behaving this way. According to the Bible, sex is a sacred act that binds two people together. Yet this generation treats it like an everyday to-do list item. It's like signing a business contract that reads "just sex, no feelings attached," and then proceeding with the proposal. WHAT. THE. FUCK. Sex is supposed to be all feelings — how is a person supposed to have sex and not catch feelings? And I assure you, 99.9% of these "contractors" end up catching feelings anyway. You are free to prove me wrong, if you dare.

The only place we should be hearing the word "side piece" is when ordering at McDonald's. I guess this generation dances through life the way we order a McDonald's meal — there's the main meal, the whole package, plus a side of their choosing. So in some relationships, there's always a Steve or an Eve on the side. Look, if one isn't enough, handle that privately. Just spare yourself from catching something far worse than feelings

What saddens me most, is seeing young people of the pacific practicing such abominations. Foreign practices are carving its path into the culture's elegance — and witnessing it is just sad. High schoolers have their own porn videos circulating on the internet — and are praised for it. It doesn't make sense how we are praised for engaging in intercourse with a large number of individuals — but mocked for remaining pure. I think every individual existing in this world needs to get themselves a brain scan.

And if you read this and get offended — it's either because the shoe fits or you're delusional somehow. Also kind reminder these are all just personal opinions — think I'm attacking you? Leave a comment and we can discuss.
