On September 11, 2001, the world was forever changed. We are all aware of the tragic events that unfolded on that day, resulting in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives in what is considered one of the largest terrorist attacks on innocent civilians in history. The haunting scenes from that day in New York City continue to be replayed when discussing the events, the victims, and the conspiracy theories that emerged. Questions surrounding whether it was a controlled explosion, a secret agenda, or who knew about the attack will be addressed.

In September 2011, a time when life as we knew it took a dramatic and sinister turn. While we could delve into these topics for hours, we will provide a brief overview of five common theories in this article. A prevalent theory in the conspiracy community is that insider traders on Wall Street were privy to upcoming events, allowing them to manipulate the stock market to their advantage. This theory is plausible due to the existing stereotypes and culture of greed associated with the finance sector in the United States. Prior to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, an unusually high number of put options were placed on United Airlines and American Airlines stock.

Investors typically buy put options when they anticipate a market decline, giving them the right to sell an asset at a predetermined price within a specified time frame. It is believed that a select few individuals on Wall Street were aware of the impending attacks and acted accordingly. These claims have sparked investigations into the possibility that wealthy investors and influential figures in America's finance sector controlled the economy in the aftermath of 9/11. The put-to-call ratio, a technical indicator of investor sentiment, was applied to United Airlines and American Airlines, both of which were targeted in the attacks. Notably, there was a significant increase in put option contracts on United Airlines, along with unusual trading activity by companies like City Group Inc and Morgan Stanley.

The trading of options increased significantly before the events, resulting in profits when stock prices dropped. Due to this suspicious activity among financial giants in America, the Securities and Exchange Commission initiated an investigation into insider trading.

The focus of the investigation turned towards Al-Qaeda's leader, Osama Bin Laden, amid suspicions that he may have received information and advice from one or more Wall Street companies leading up to the events. The 9/11 commission ultimately concluded that any unusual economic patterns were purely coincidental, stating that exhaustive investigations by various agencies found no evidence of anyone profiting from advanced knowledge of the attacks through securities transactions. The disturbing possibility of insider traders collaborating with terrorist organizations or benefiting from their actions is a reprehensible concept, yet one that is not difficult to imagine in today's world.

Do you believe in coincidence or truth?

Version 1: The attack on the Pentagon, the lesser-discussed event of 9/11, involved the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense in Washington DC. Various theories and discussions have emerged regarding how and why the building was targeted. One theory suggests that it was not hit by American Airlines Flight 77 but by a missile launched by the US government itself.

Critics argue that, similar to the attacks in New York City, the government orchestrated the events using staged witnesses, actors, CGI graphics, and carefully planned explosives to create the illusion of an external attack on the government building.

However, this theory has been debunked by the flight data recorder, radar footage, and the identities of the victims who lost their lives that day. Despite this, there are still individuals who believe that there is more to the story.

I don't know what to believe when it comes to mass media and sensationalism however, I do know that thousands of people were killed on that day and respectfully grieve with their loved ones and all whose lives were affected.
