Toyin Abraham made the revelation when she was asked "You have done so much promotion, like one million promotion for Malaika, I just want to know - did you use your last cash to shoot the movie?", she responded:

TOYIN ABRAHAM: [Laughs] Okay, truthfully, Malaika is actually my biggest budget. If I tell you how much I used in shooting that movie.

(1) I had to bring Uncle Emeka all the way from Germany because he has relocated. I paid him a lot of money. I bought ticket first class.

(2) I brought Anne Kansiime from Uganda, and I paid in dollars. I bought ticket for Anne Kansiime and her PA.

(3) I lodged all my crew in big hotels, I don't want to mention the name of the hotels. So I spent millions.

And even if I did not spend millions, I feel when you are doing something, you should not be ashamed of it and you should shamelessly promote yourself because nobody will do that for you. So when it comes to my market, when it comes to my things, I promote it shamelessly. I don't care about what anybody wants to say. So even if I shoot with 10 naira, I will still promote it with my life, because that is my source of income. So you go hard so you don't go hungry.
