It’s cuffing season — or what used to be cuffing season, anyway. This winter is a bit different due to the onslaught of the pandemic, but the lonely winter vibe seems to be here to stay (but without any of the actual cuffing). If you find yourself craving a little romance this December, here are 10 different Webtoons in the romance genre to get the winter fire burning.

1. Lore Olympus

A Webtoon classic. Well known and loved, you can’t miss this retelling of the love story of Hades and Persephone. With an incredibly captivating art style, witty dialogue, and lots of finished chapters, you really can’t go wrong with Lore Olympus.

3. SubZero

Looking for something a bit steamier? This Webtoon focuses on the arranged marriage of two royals from different upbringings — the red dragon and the blue dragon. 5. Suitor Armor

This historical fantasy brings so much intrigue to the table. Newer to the Webtoon Originals family, an enchanted suit of armor begins to fall for Lucia, a lady-in-waiting. No magic is allowed to be practiced by any unless licensed, but it looks like Lucia has a secret of her own…

6. Edith

Edith has a charm all its own. Struggling creatives and lonely spirits find a kindred spirit in Edith, who is a novelist with big aspirations and a lot of anxiety. 7. The Wrath and the Dawn

Enemies to lovers are all the rage these days, and none do it better than The Wrath and the Dawn. A retelling of 1001 Arabian nights and based on the novel The Wrath and the Dawn, a young girl becomes the next wife of the vicious Khalid. She plans to take revenge for the slaughtering of many wives before her (including her best friend), but other forces may be at play…

8. The Kiss Bet

The Kiss Bet is a love square. Failing math, figuring out her best friend’s feelings, and crushing on the stunning new guy understandably seem to be taking a toll on Sara Lin’s personal life. While seemingly unable to dodge her best friend’s bets, Sara Lin makes a begrudging friend out of Oliver, due to unfortunate Kissing Bet circumstances. There’s never a dull moment in this comic!

9. Children of the Night

If historical romance with a touch of supernatural is your cup of tea, this is the perfect read for you. Beth finally meets the mysterious owner of the empty house up the hill and learns about her arranged marriage all in a week!. With multiple different kinds of power plays in personalities, all you need to know is whether you’ll be team vampire…or vampire hunter.

10. Muted

To finish the list off with a classic is more than necessary! Muted follows a witch in New Orleans as she figures out her complicated family history, demon summoning rituals, and pretty girls from other houses. The art style is simply gorgeous, and the character development for Camille, the heroine, is unmatched.

(Side note: this creator also recently launched a new Original, Lovebot. It was a great read in Canvas, and is anxiously awaited on the Original scene!)

Now off you go! Whether Originals or Canvas is your idea of a good time, there are winners in both categories! Have fun reading, and let me know if you have any Webtoons that you recommend in the comments.
