Unexplained Real Supernatural Events in Chinese Folklore - Part 7

The stories below encompass some experiences from my own life, as well as tales shared by my neighbors and rumors passed on by my landlord. Whenever these stories have been relayed to me, they have been staunchly emphasized as undeniably true. I'm not dead yet! I still have seven days to live! These were the words spoken by my neighbor, an old man, after being placed in a coffin. Astonishingly, he did live for another week before passing away. This is a story I personally witnessed.

I have another friend whose mother, on her deathbed, claimed that some underworld emissaries were coming to take her away. Terrified, she confided in her children, and the emissaries began to assault her. She suffered immense pain, unable to speak to her family again, before eventually passing away. This story was recounted to me by my friend, and it left a deep impression.

My close friend's mother, though not a follower of Buddhism, had some supernatural abilities. Once, while traveling in the wilderness, she heard distant crying. Despite nobody else hearing it, she was curious. She led the group on a detour through several mountain paths and, upon getting closer, discovered a new grave. This is an absolute fact, and even she was bewildered by it. She later recounted that she once saw a young monk in a temple with a bright white light above his head, as clear and vivid as an image of a saint in a painting. When she told others about it, they were skeptical, but the temple's elderly monk confirmed that what she had seen was real. This young monk was no ordinary person; he was an accomplished practitioner. In hindsight, it's possible that he was a reincarnation of an arhat sent to save sentient beings. This elderly mother is quite advanced in age now. Because I've helped her significantly in the past, she considers me as her own child. She has no reason to deceive me.

Then there's my landlord, who once rented a factory. Strange things began happening as the machinery was mysteriously damaged during the night. Eventually, a worker claimed to hear ghosts speaking late at night. Initially, nobody believed it, but soon more and more people began hearing these ghostly conversations. My landlord, terrified, sought the help of a Feng Shui master, who revealed that there were fox spirits and other entities in the factory, including a vengeful ghost who had died not long ago and held a deep grudge. This ghost had been a technician in the previous factory that occupied the space before my landlord. Upon investigation, my landlord confirmed the story: this technician, who was supposed to spend Children's Day with his daughter, had been forced to work overtime by his boss and tragically died from electrocution at the factory. With unresolved bitterness in his heart, he had been sabotaging the factory's equipment at night. My landlord tried various rituals to appease these spirits but found no success. In the end, the only solution was to relocate the factory. This is a firsthand account from my landlord himself.
