Mind games taken way too far; explore the disturbing genre of psychological thrillers that make us question our perception of sanity and reality.
The Fast Pass Diner
Never fall asleep in an all-night diner. The waitresses might not bother you—but when you wake up with sugar packets stuck to your forehead and a lap full of coffee, you might wish they had. That was where I found myself last Thursday, after a long shift in the ambulance.

Free Bird
My days usually ran like clockwork. I woke up at the same time everyday, 6:30 a.m. I got breakfast ready, and then I would get my siblings up, and ready for school, Sebastian and Dominic, they were twins and could be a little chaotic if you don't have the right tone. My dad was always the first out, but he never failed to make sure he left me some coffee on the burner. He worked in the maritime business cooking meals for the workers on the ships you would see sitting off on the Atlantic coast. My mom left us when I was 13 so for the past four years I have been playing the woman of the house and raising my brothers, and helping my dad find a balance. I don't mind helping out my dad, I could only imagine what he would do if I wasn't around.

The Night Owl
The door of Stan’s 24 Hour Diner whooshed open and then sucked back in against its casing. Cara quit bitching to Keith, the chef, and hurried out to greet the customer. She had an inkling who it was and she was right. The night owl. Four nights in a row now. She watched him lower his hood and cross the diner and sit in a booth by the window. She grabbed a menu from the bar.

One More Month
It was a beautiful morning. As beautiful as it could be in the year 2032. It is a time where everything the sun touches, it burns. Sam woke up four minutes before his alarm. He hoists himself to the side of the bed, where his feet aligned perfectly with his slippers. He pulled his curtains open to greet his dying lawn. Sam sat down to digitally read the paper. A front page headline reads “Only 1 month to go!!”.

Ouroboros
Can I take a moment of your time to tell you about the most fabulous little creature? Now, you’re probably thinking it’s some rare bird with bright multicolored plumage that lives in the mysterious heart of the Amazon, or perhaps a cuddly bright-eyed marsupial that looks like a living teddy bear, and obeys and dotes like the most loyal lapdog. You’re wrong on both accounts. However, if at the end of my introductory question, the image of a small brown retinentia leech from the Mississippi bayou entered your mind then you may give yourself a pat on the back.
