The Cold Finding
Harry knocked on his neighbor's door just one more time before walking away feeling silly. He could see no lights on and it was past 2 in the morning the last he checked his clock. He wasn't sure how his good friends and house owners would take it, especially if he's known them ever since he moved across from their isolated cottage 12 years ago. His house was two-story, so it was always odd finding himself making another noise complaint instead of leaving it alone. To his surprise, his good friend Sam poked his head out the front window next to the door just as surprised. Harry gave a smile waving his hand when Sam turned his porch lights on. Sam opened his front door wearing a dark blue shirt and black shorts with comfortable slippers. It was funny to see Sam didn't look as tired as Harry thought he would be. Harry gave the warmest smile feeling embarrassed about why he was there. Once Sam opened up the door he yawned.

Why Many Are Wrong About ‘Antebellum’
Upon finishing Antebellum, I needed about half an hour to gather my thoughts. I then needed another two hours when I saw the overall critics and audience consensus on Antebellum was definitively disappointed. Did I miss something? Are these people all discussing the same film I just watched?

I don’t know if I am going crazy or if its because the plotline is changing so many times. The Haunting of Molly Hartley is a 2008 film about a teenage girl trying to move on after a traumatic experience. Going to a new school does not help. It’s not soon until Molly learns sinister news about herself that may afflict her eighteenth birthday.

Film Review: Unfriended: Dark Web
Found footage horror films haven’t changed much since classic like The Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, and Paranormal Activity first put the genre on the map. However, there’s an interesting subgenre popping up more and more often – the type of found footage horror flick that unfolds completely over computer screens, browser windows, Skype chats, and the like. Nacho Vigalondo’s Open Window is an early example of the idea at work, but 2014’s Unfriended officially took it into the mainstream when it globally raked in a cool $60 million dollars. Unfriended: Dark Web is the much anticipated sequel… but does it actually deliver or would you be better off swiping left and spending your screen time elsewhere?

Spooky Season
While I find it so important to focus on the current events in terms of our government at the moment, I also believe it is important to talk about those things that we are looking forward to. I am a huge Halloween fan, growing up I learned that I loved to scare people and to be scared. This was mostly in part to the fact that my Dad's birthday fell on Halloween, so while many people went out trick-or-treating, as I did, I also had something else to look forward to, our annual Halloween party.

Identity Lost
With her first step into to the campus, she could feel the change coming her way. The cool breeze carried the scents of pines and oaks and various other trees that she didn’t know the names of, merged into a cocktail of fresh autumn morning. She made her way to the enrollment office as instructed by the email she had been reading over and over again for weeks. Many other students were walking past her. She started imagining all of the future friendships, romances and victories. She was feeling like she had conquered her own country with her talent and now it was time to conquer this one. Her mother’s voice echoed at the back of her head “My cube of talent”. She had seen a phone booth on a corner she walked past, she thought she would call her mum soon.

Movie Review: 'Shortcut'
Shortcut is short and that's the best thing about this teen-centric horror movie. That's not to say that Shortcut is unwatchably bad, it's not. Shortcut is perfectly serviceable as a creature feature. If you like goofy monsters and lots of dark corners in which to shine torches and flashlights, Shortcut has you covered. If you are looking for genuine scares, you will want to look elsewhere.

The Old Woman
When I was little I would have terrifying dreams. I would dream I was at the edge of a cliff about to fall into thorns. Many times snakes would surround me and pull me to the ground, ready to consume me. I would get sucked into rivers and be pulled along unable to breathe. Monsters would chase me. Ships would sink. Every time I’d wake up an old woman would be standing at the foot of my bed. I would be paralyzed by fear until she’d fade away. She became the bringer of nightmares.

Nyctophobia
When I was little, I used to keep a bag packed with my favorite belongings next to my window. I wanted to be prepared if a fire broke out. I had a checklist for how I would react in a scenario where an intruder broke into the house. Hiding the kitchen knife set was at the top of the list. At night, I would go around the house to make sure doors and windows were locked. I had a lot of fears as a child. My fears were all tangible, rational, so that I could reason out how I would defeat or outsmart potential threats. It never occurred to me that the really scary things where outside of the realm of logic.

Spirit Encounter?
Hello everyone, I usually have a lot of sleep paralysis filled nights. But, recently I have found a connection that actually kind of worries me. So we went a few months ago when I was having sleep paralysis almost 4 days a week. I resented falling asleep even though I’ve grown accustomed to it and I have multiple tricks to not let it get too out of hand. However, I read online that you were more likely to go into sleep paralysis when you sleep on your back. This of course made sense as I always end up sleeping on my back or waking up on my back. So, I started sleeping on my sides and it gave me about a month of freedom from the supposed demons that would come and visit me at night. Well, let me explain something else real quick, because I have always felt a connection with a different world for such a long time, I have associated the sleep paralysis with an ability to visit a different world, maybe even a spirit world. A lot of the time it would be visits from evil entities that I could only sometimes see and a lot of the time they would just be these blur type anomalies that I could just feel the intense energy emanating from their other worldly auras.
