What Happened to Me Yesterday
It was just like any other Friday afternoon for me, books and solitude until something happened. Yesterday was heavily raining and you could’ve felt the earth pulses all around you meeting with the steady drumbeats of liquid. But the mighty and scary clouds up above us don’t feel empathy for the poor earth ground. They are armed with their tear shape bombs that destroy cities of millions of ants. The dirt mixes with water and turns into mud. Water droplets accumulate at the beautiful leaves surfaces but the potential energy they hold goes over their head. They slip down and transform into kinetic power which in contact with the ground does colossal damage to little creatures nearby. What happened in this night of soothing rain it’s still a mystery for me. I will never forget what I felt on that day and my confusion.

Dead DayZ
You awaken in the apartment bedroom, news blaring on the television and the sound of a helicopter soaring outside. You stayed up way too late and don't remember all of the details but flashes of moments: drinking whiskey, chaos in the streets, your sister packing suitcases, and police cars lining up along the major avenues like makeshift border crossings.

Review of “13 Slays Till X-Mas”, A Horror, Christmas Anthology
Blood Moon Pictures has given horror fans far and wide the latest Blu-ray to drop for pre-order on Scream Team Releasing: “13 Slays Till X-Mas”, a bloodsoakingly good horror anthology from creator, director, writer and producer P.J. Starks, known for “Volumes of Blood”, and writer, director and producer Eric Huskisson that features 13 Christmas-themed stories. The anthology film collaboration with several indie filmmakers is as wholesome of a terror fest as it is gruesome, and even as we’ve entered February, the Christmas aspect of “13 Slays Till X-Mas” is a year-round type of enjoyable (and not to mention, we’ve needed more holiday horror in the genre!).

Blood Money
If walking the streets at night is suicide, then suicide is just part of my job. I'm standing on a sidewalk in downtown Hell, leaning against a brick building like it's there to comfort me in the night. Tonight is a kill-yourself evening like any other, and my surroundings are perfect mood material. Scattered lampposts highlight a dingy, dirty street that nobody with good intentions and common sense wants anything to do with. Other women stand at different points on the street like hard-used mannequins on the world's least glamorous shop window. Goods for sale, to any man or woman with enough hard-earned money and desperation.

My Guardian
Everyone has a guardian, someone or something that watches over them since birth. Some people claim to see their guardian angels in the form of Archangel Michael or Gabriel, they’re seen as beautiful creations that radiate God’s grace. Some people however aren’t so lucky. They’ve always been there, ever since I can remember; my protector, my saving grace.

The Order of the Little Black Book
The Order of the Little Black Book By S.G. Greene “Are you O.K.?” The voice was muffled against the pulsing waves of the theremin orchestra below his grand viewing box. The orchestra sped up; the show began to climax. His chest vibrated as frantic yet deliberate fingers mashed heavy synth pads. A spectacle of lights beamed down from the ceiling of the rotunda in rhythm with the cacophony of sounds he had written with the stroke of a pen. He stared down to the stage below where six women interpreted the music through elegant movements of their bodies, each in tune with the other. Yet even as the crowd filling the seats wrapping the circumference of the rotunda roared with approval, he could not so much as lift his finger.

Sanctuary
Where are they?! I screamed internally. This street was not known, these homes unfamiliar. The road was dark, save only for small patches of amber from streetlamps. There was some small comfort in those circles of light; they chased away the shadows, made the night seem a little like the day. An illusion really. I shook my head, as much to clear it as to fight off my rising sense of panic. Off in the distance, a siren wailed, and a dog howled in response. I quickened my pace.

The Big C legacy
Chapter 1 Sick. His dad was sick. His dad was sick and there was nothing Kirk could do. His father in the hospital, the big C. All that smoking had finally caught up with him. Lung cancer, stage 4. All anyone could do is bring flowers and watch him die. “Cancer is a spectator sport” he thought to himself, a sick guilty smile on his face. His eyes flitted side to side, checking to see if anyone had caught that atrocious whim of humour. The guilt setting in.

The Games: Part II
The water is up to my chest. The icy temperatures constrict around me, suffocating me. Desperately trying to get closer to the rest of the group, I yank on the chain around my ankle, pulling until my ankle is screaming, pulling until the metal cuts into my skin and it stings as the new cut drinks in water. The ball scraps slowly along the bottom, but I'm moving! The water is up to my chin and I tip my head back, trying to breathe as long as I can.
