Property of M.Gardiner
A flicker of green caught her eye. No, that couldn't be right. Julie Gardiner whipped around from where she had been hastily combing her hair in front of the mirror and sure enough there she saw a bundle of clean if slightly crinkled twenty dollar bills poking out from the top drawer of her dresser. She gasped, the plastic comb that had previously been in her hand clattered to the floor as she rushed over to see whether her eyes were deceiving her.

Montgomery Homestead
Walking in the woods was just something I liked to do. The early morning autumn air was brisk, and the remnants of last night’s fog dribbled off the pine needles before the cold air could trap them in the tree till spring. I walked because I needed to be out. Away. This was likely my last chance before winter sets in and I become trapped in domesticity for months.

Josah and the Mothman
Josah and the Mothman Josah sat in a small wooden home on a farm carved out of a dark and dangerous forest. He sat drinking to ease his grief knowing It would be of little use. Josah lived in one of the few quiet corners of a country that no longer exists, in a history before history. Josah and his wife knew that there was conflict just two mountains and a valley away. They like most people of their time got their news from travelers, or if they happened to catch a bar playing at the pub, but the closest pub was a half days ride from their house. Months back a traveler had told them about several tents, wagons, and three large, frightful necroidal menagerie pens brought in on the backs of giant undead mammoths known as Marwmammut. The traveler who was heading back to the nearby coastal city of Havagno said the growing army had battled an enemy battalion and appeared to be setting up more permanent buildings. In the months to come Josah would slay two necroidals that had become trapped in the underbrush on the outskirts of their farm. Both were once human, both presumably killed in the recent battle they carried large baskets containing decaying human heads. After he killed the terrible things, he burned them in a deep pit and buried it over. He knew they were considered royal property and destroying them was punishable by a slow death, or worse.

Moral Dilemma
It was just sitting there. On the bench. A little black book with a hole in the middle. In that hole, there was $20,000. Should I take it? It has no notes inside, just the money. Maybe someone just left it here. I'm sure that's the case. They would have surely been more careful with that amount of money. I could pay off all my debts and travel the world. Oh, I would be able to go to Italy. I could see all the renaissance art that I've always wanted to see and all the architecture. But what if this has been left for some sort of drug deal. I don't want to go to jail for taking tainted money. I should probably just go give it to the police. That would be such a waste though. Did that bush just move? Is someone watching me? This could just be some sick test to see if people do the right thing. That's a lot of money for a test though. If someone has that much money to spare, I think they have some other issues to figure out. I'll just sit down for the next few minutes and see if anyone comes by looking for it. I haven't seen anyone come by since I've been here and they would have surely come back by now if it was a mistake. I don't care if it is a test, I'm taking it. If someone was that stupid to leave it here then they deserve to get it taken. Yeah, I'm taking it. Okay, here we go. Just take it. I swear that bush just moved. I don't know, maybe it didn't. Maybe that is my guilt talking. I shouldn't be guilty though they left it here for the taking. Okay, that is it. I'll just sit on the bench for a few minutes and glance through the book so no one thinks I stole it. I'm glancing, I'm glancing. What the hell am I doing? No one is even around, no one will see. I need this. All the debt and all the vacations I could take. Everyone would do the same thing. I know they would. Time to leave. I'll just stick it in my purse, no one will be the wiser. Now move. One step at a time, down this dark pathway. Why is it so dark? It's only, what, 4:30? Just act normal, keep walking. Is that someone behind me? I'm imagining things, there was no one like ten seconds ago so there is no one there now. You are just paranoid. Yeah, paranoid because you are an awful person. Who takes $20,000 from a bench? It would have been better if someone else found it. They could be going through this right now instead of me. No, stop! I'll just give some of it to charity. I'll pay off my debts, plan a trip around Europe, and the leftovers I'll donate. Perfect. Keep walking. Don't look back, now that will make you look suspicious. Keep going. Okay, there is definitely someone following me. One quick look. Ready, one quick look, now! No one is there but that lamppost looked a little thicker than normal. There is a person behind it for sure. Okay, let's just do a little jogging. I need the exercise anyway. Okay, there are footsteps now, they are running. Run as fast as your feet can take you. Move, move, move!

The Truth
This is a small piece of fan fic set in the world of ‘Monster Hunter International’ It is my hope that through fate, karma, people talking to him, bribery, sexual favors or whatever, Larry Correia would find his way this and give it a good read. I would love to get his input and insights. Of course to be able to team up with him to transform this fan fic to a real book and canon for that world that I do so enjoy reading about.

For My Big Brother
March 3rd I always kind of hated my brother. Well, hate is a strong word. I just always hated how easy everything was for him. He’s two years older than me, but everything just comes so easily for him. In highschool, he was in ROTC, taking courses in criminal justice so he could get a leg up on his law enforcement career, and had a string of friends and girlfriends to make his highschool years amazing. He never seemed to study, always retained what he needed for tests, and finished his highschool years half a year early with a nearly perfect GPA. He didn't need to, he could have gone straight to the police academy, but he chose to join the Army for four years; saying it was his “duty to his country. He served as an MP and later as a base investigator for base related crimes. When he got out, he was practically ready to start police work already.

The Little Black Book
A pair of pale colorless fingertips grazed the coarse gravel hanging down towards the ground as if they were reaching for it. Swaying like boneless twigs in the wind back and forth as gravity pulled on their weight mimicking dull but lively movement, the persons head hung similarly. The quiet strokes the persons hair made as they also tickled the ground soon became sludges as each strand absorbed like a sponge the flaring color of many alarming warning signs. The color of a siren racing to put out a fire, the color of a fatal accident on the road, the color of once clear bags filled up through needles and tubes in hospitals.

Kindling. Top Story - March 2021.
Waking was akin to clawing his way through a tunnel of cobwebs only to break through a soggy layer of mildewed cardboard. That is to say; it was grossly unpleasant. His eyes were closed still, but he let the night seep into his ears. There were no sounds of cars on the nearby street, no late-night flights skimmed the roof. It must have been that mysterious time between bar close and when the city resumes its relentless hamster wheel cycle of a new day.
