The Legend Of The Ice Mole
The Breaking of the Ice Mole That mole has hid in that mountain for almost ten centuries. He’s been drinking the stale blood from everyone that enters his fens. The warrens of despair are just one of the ways to expire in his clutch. The tick tock of your thoughts is another as you traverse the pitch blackness of his cavern. It is there you will hear the troubled waters down of his fetid river. Where worms make up the river bank. Where the undulating current is created by their wiggle. I see the terror in my dreams. He started digging long ago, after a tryst he can barely remember. He promised to hold her in his thoughts forever and side with her wishes until he died. That was more than 900 years ago and since then he has trudged on making life miserable for the adventurers down in the valley. It is true, the king wronged him. Kept his daughter from the mole, then lied about it. Their story is one of the cruelty of power, the frailty of fathers.

The Town Named Bilmo
Foreword: Hello, my name is Joseph Roy Wright. I am a Self-Published author of three novels. The Town Named Bilmo is my third book. The book is set in Wales, however the town itself is heavily inspired by my home town of Runcorn (which is in England). I post the first chapter here for some feedback and as exposure, but mainly because I plan on one day becoming a full time writer. Please feel to let me know on Social Media what you guys think of my writing and if this book (or any other I have written) interests you. I hope you enjoy this first chapter and that it peaks your interest. Thanks for reading. Links to my social media and books will be posted at the bottom of this article.

Sequester. Top Story - April 2021.
Light gently permeated this foreign place from incandescent pinheads in the far off distance, entire galaxies unknown to man spaced far yet not so few between. Clouds of gaseous blue and purple detonations mottled across this great beyond, surpassing the grasp of one’s ability to imagine it’s scope, let alone handle an understanding of such phenomena. My head, both light and lagging, revolved across this vast spacescape in awe, temporarily unaware of the absurdness of my situation as I sheepishly peered into the glory of both past and present. As my gaze descended my eyes caught my pale feet, wide and naked, firmly planted on an imperceptible plain. A torrent of ice began to stretch from behind my eyes up and backward, a measured waltz from neuron to the next which promptly dissipated as it’s travel found the nape of my neck. My lips curled as my mouth cracked in horror letting out a scream, a scream that came up silent as if I were an actor in one of those silent film reels I’d seen as a child.

Finding Atlas
Nox cawed “fly” and flew off Aurora's shoulder. Startled she tripped over her hastily tied bootlace and fell straight forward into the wet grass, the acorns she was holding flying in all directions. She landed on her stomach and arms, now completely drenched. “Shit.” As she pushed herself up she spotted something white down on the beach, only barely over the tree line. Aurora had been walking down the pathway heading back to her village from wandering in the forest. She'd intended to bring the nuts back home to roast, plans for another day now. There were trees blocking her view but she could just see the tip of a white sail.

The Revenge of the Ghost
Sandhya was the happiest person in the world. She had purchased a new house in a hill station which was two hours drive from the metro city where she used to stay. This was to be used as a weekend home to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and to refresh at the end of the week.

Movie Review: 'The Unholy'
The Unholy is a wildly frustrating movie. The film is quite good in so many ways and quite silly and impossible in others, thus why it is so frustrating. Star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is so interesting, effortlessly charismatic and has that kind of shambling, messy, handsomeness where going unshaven could be lazy or a legit fashion choice. Because of Morgan’s appeal, I wanted The Unholy to succeed. Sadly, the silly is too silly for the movie to survive.

House of SIN
As the police arrived at her door, the corpse that she kept under her bed was starting to wiggle, squirm and generally move about without any notice. She had her fun with it, yes, she did, but now it was dead, though she could clearly see it moving. What was it? How was it moving. She had played with him all night long, but it had not even blinked an eye, now it is acting like it wants to get up and dance.

ACOLYTES OF THE CHOSEN

The Followed
Between the intermittent scrape of the windscreen wipers was the mumbling drone of the radio and the rain hammering on the roof of the car. Against the black sky, Bill became mesmerised by the cascade of rain illuminated by the streetlights as he passed each one on his journey home. The meeting with his manager just before he’d left work for the day, the report he had to write before a 10am meeting tomorrow, the gift he still hadn’t had time to buy his wife for their anniversary and the flooded roads all occupied his thoughts as his car crawled through the city centre, hitting every red light. People fighting with umbrellas crossed the road as he waited at a set of traffic lights which seemed to have been red for hours. Bill tapped the steering wheel with irritation, then switched the radio off with a grunt of annoyance. He tapped the accelerator causing the car to rev in a passive aggressive manner, as if this would make clear his frustration to the lights, make them feel guilty and then change as an apology.

Mixed & Matched
Triggers: death, ghosts, blood, implied violence and sickness, accidental misgendering of a non-binary character. Mitch’s answer to “what the hell happened here?” was a sheepish, “We acquired a wedding dress this afternoon.” And that was enough of an explanation, I didn’t need anything else, but I still asked, “Oh, did we now?” because I was feeling frustrated and I wanted to make him feel guilty. Judging by the way his shoulders slumped, it worked very well.
