Winchester: Everything Dies Here...
Everything dies here……. The dark and raspy quote of the witch next door. She would linger at the gate just as that statement would linger in my mind. I became intrigued by this awkwardly mysterious woman whispering incantations and dragging her old rake across the cement and rocks. I decided to contact my landlord, David, who was always there to help me whenever I had any issues. I compiled an email describing the meeting I got myself into with the neighbor. I explained the way I discovered her watching through the fence, the way she behaved and the things she said. Apparently this was not entirely a surprise to him.

The Crying Solider
I was having lunch with some friends earlier today. One of my old buddies asked me why I didn't share the story of the crying solider with our JMC family. Well, I don't think I have ever heard the story, so he told it to me while we ate. Although it is a ghostly story, from time to time he wiped a tear from his eye. I could see the emotion and the passion of the story first hand. My friend has been a Jellico resident for his entire life, now in his late 70's. He told the story with meaning and truth and it touched my heart so deeply. I couldn't wait to return home, open my laptop and start typing away. This is the story of the crying solider, as told to me by a dear friend.

But to be honest with you, sometimes, it wasn't fun.

My werewolf life
They say this all began in the mid 1500's. Some crazy guy in a "magical girdle" was roaming the country side, shape-shifting and killing people. I actually had to look this up because at first, I didn't believe it. Sure enough there it was in black and white print on my computer screen, some random guy in Germany was wearing a girdle and roaming the country side. It ended the usual way things like this end, he was tortured and killed, then his head hung on display. It was said the girdle was a gift from the devil as a sign of their pact. If the devil was to hand me a girdle and say this will give you shape-shifting powers I would have to take a hard pass on that one.

Hush-A-By
Running through the dead trees; The hunters chase, the prey flees. Hush-a-by, hush-a-by, they all fall down. The wailing child’s voice sounded again; an eerie song drifting on the chill wind. Icy fingers wrapped around them, sending haunting shivers down their spines. In terror they ran. They had been running for days. Every time the song sounded, someone died.

Little Black Book
“I’m not sure when it started. I just know that since that thing has shown up, my life has been a mess.” He said as he peered over his shoulder at his bag, “You would think because I always know what to expect from my day that I would be more at ease, but I’m not. It never tells me if things are going to turn out okay, just what is going to happen. It is not like reading the last chapter in the book. It is like being stuck on the middle chapters, all the time! My life is a stressful middle chapter.” He took a breath as he ran his hand through his hair, “It’s not all bad though, sometimes it tells me good things. Six months ago it told me that I would ask a beautiful woman out at the park. Sheila was the only woman at the park that day and man is she beautiful. Because of the book I had the courage to ask her out and she said yes! Can you believe that? But then a few weeks ago it told me that Sheila was going to break up with me right when things were getting good. No explanation either. She did break up with me that day too and told me it’s because I act all jumpy. She said that she hated the way I couldn’t stop checking my little black book.”

The Melancholic Pianist
As a music production apprentice I had to do all the jobs no one else wanted. ‘Valuable industry experience’ they called it. My manager, Antoine – a pretentious name for a middle-aged guy from Basildon, if you ask me – was a nice enough guy, but he made sure you knew he was the boss.

Suicide
I was sitting all alone, in the woods where I usually go when I don't want to deal with people. The flashback replaying in my head over and over again. I haven't heard from school or any of my friends since I went into the hospital. I've been out of school for three weeks now, because of my collar bone and my ribs. I didn't want to go back any way. They treat you differently than they were before you left. It would be embarrassing because I'm one of those girls that people don't really notice. Like if the teachers didn't know my name I could ditch school everyday and they wouldn't even notice. But this year my teachers decided to put me in the front of the classroom in all my classes. It was torture. I could hear the other kids ask and whisper to each other "Is she new?" Who is she?" "She looks weird" and more painful hurtful things like "She's ugly" or "She needs help." Which was true I did need help, but I didn't want other girls that I didn't know to tell me that.
