Pakistan-India war,1971. Going from the remote cities of Malakwal to Bhera during the time of underpopulated areas, deserted areas all around, empty fields, and old empty railway stations, a Pakitan army serviceman (Ahmed) after completing his duties going home during the late hours of the night, after the arrival at the Malakwal railway station he decided to go by walk.

Walking in the dark with no lights around, going from Malakwal to Bhera he decided not to use fire or any source of light as during night time enemies fly airships or helicopters can easily see them from above the sky and can drop a bomb.

After walking for 2 hours distance he saw a railway station he had never seen before and the lights were all lit up there to his surprise, he was tired so a place to rest for a pleasing thing for him, as the night grew darker he put his concerns to a side and decided to take a rest.

After coming to the station, he saw a large group of people sleeping and resting at the station, he was surprised even more when he saw that all the people were wearing white clothes. He again muted his concerns as he was exhausted.

He decided not to wake anybody up and reached where the water was placed on the station by hopping over other people sleeping. He drank water and lay down with other people to take a nap.

One of the people woke him up after almost 30 minutes, he was one of the elderly heads of those people, along with him a few more were also awake, they were interrogating him and asking him who he was, he explained his story to them, the understood him and also uniform and appearance made them believe him. As wartime is crucial everybody is willing to help each other.

Those people offered him food but he refused it, as he was fresh now his concerns started to grow again, (why were they all wearing white clothes?), he thought.

He thought the best thing for him right now was to leave that place as soon as possible and to reach home. Although those people were welcoming, but he felt something strange was also going on.

He got scared by their strange behavior and appearance but kept himself composed. A crowded railway station in the middle of nowhere, which he had never noticed before, and extremely dark and empty fields all around with no trace of a single human being.

After talking with them for 5 more minutes and explaining his story, he told them that he was in a rush and his wife and kids were waiting for him. He wore his backpack and was about to leave when one of the members of that group handed over an ax to him. He told him that wartimes are crucial and he must carry some kind of weapon with him. He was not willing but he took it and started walking on his path as fast as he could. After almost 1 minute those people started to shout his name loudly saying, that he had left his something at the station.

He started sweating and got extremely scared as he never opened his bag at the station and he had never told his name to them he just told them that he was a serviceman. Instead of looking back he almost started running on his path. At that time he realized that those people were not humans but were something else.

After that, he never looked back during his whole journey until he reached home safely. The fact that what could have happened if had looked back always used to give him chills. That ax stayed with him for his lifetime, was harmless, and was there to remind him of his life lesson.
