The Design Station

Upon entering the premises, I came across a design station where individuals have the opportunity to fashion and personalize their own vehicle using our magic bands to gain access and save their unique design. The customization options encompass a range of vehicles, including supercars, trucks, and minivans, each boasting its own distinct attributes: Capability, Efficiency, Responsiveness, and Power. Personally, I gravitated towards the supercar category due to my preference for vehicles that focus solely on both power and Responsiveness.

Once I made my selection, I was prompted to sketch a line to outline the desired form of the car. After completing the initial shaping, an "optimize" button was provided to refine the car's structure. Furthermore, there were additional options to further modify the shape of the vehicle. I decided to continue shaping the car until I attained the desired level of power.

Following the shaping process, a feature called "Pre-tune" was introduced. The Sculpt feature allowed me to adjust the car's hood, impacting the front, top, and rear sections. However, altering the length of the car had consequences for both efficiency and power. Width adjustments were also available, influencing the car's responsiveness and efficiency. The subsequent step involved the selection of an engine type, which determined the desired balance between efficiency and power. Engine choices included Solar drive, fuel cell, electric, hybrid (with no effect), gas engine, supercharge, and plasma burner. I opted for the plasma burner to maximize power, albeit at the expense of efficiency. Solar drive or plasma burner can serve as an accessory for your designed vehicle.

Once the shaping, lengthening, width adjustments, and engine selection were completed, I was then taken to the customization phase. This phase involves shaping the face of the car, choosing a paint color, selecting a wheel style (which could impact performance), adjusting the wheel size, and adding accessories (which also had the potential to affect performance). It was also worth noting that each individual, including myself, had a limited timeframe to create and design their car.

This is what my car design looks like

The Wait In line To The Ride

After utilizing the design station to customize my car, I patiently queued up for the ride. Following the initial wait in line, I proceeded to the designated section where I waited once again to board the car ride. Along the way, I encountered a sim track where I could utilize my magic band to scan my car design for attribute testing. The ride itself involves sitting in a vehicle without a hood, with a computer screen positioned at the front center of the vehicle to assess Capability, Efficiency, Responsiveness, and Power. This particular vehicle accommodates six riders, with three seated in the front row and three in the back row.

Test Track Vehicles

Riding In The Vehicle

After a group of individuals, including myself, entered the vehicle and fastened our seatbelts, the vehicle commenced its movement. Initially, we came across a test track staff member who made sure our seatbelts were securely fastened and wouldn't come undone during the ride. Once this process was finished, the vehicle began to move.

Capability Test

The purpose of this test is to assess the vehicle's performance in various weather conditions. In the first phase, the vehicle is driven through a rainstorm, while in the second phase, it navigates off-road and encounters extreme weather conditions. Following the testing, the results of the Capability Test ranked my car design around 3rd or 4th place. It should be noted that my car was not specifically designed for these types of conditions.

Efficiency Test

The car proceeds through a tunnel that analyzes the vehicle to assess its fuel efficiency. A lower efficiency score indicates higher gas consumption during movement, while a higher efficiency score signifies the car will use less gas while in motion. However, my car consistently ranks poorly in the Efficiency test results because I prioritized designing my car to be fast and did not place much importance on fuel efficiency.

Responsiveness Test

The performance of your car depends on its ability to turn and maneuver effectively. If your car has low responsiveness, it will not perform well when turning, whereas high responsiveness will result in excellent turning capabilities. The car will initially turn left, followed by a sharp right turn, a sharp left turn, a regular right turn, a gentle left turn, and then successfully avoids a collision with a semi-truck. the Responsiveness test, my car was ranked around 3rd place despite having a Responsiveness score of 47. This was because there were other people who had designed their cars to be more adept at turning and maneuverability than mine.

Power Test

The car will undergo evaluations to assess its speed and acceleration. A slow car indicates low power, while a fast car indicates high power. This is the only test conducted outside of the building, rather than inside. During this test, the car proceeds down a ramp, accelerates on a straight road, decelerates on a curve, maintains a regular speed on another straight road, accelerates once again on another curve, continues along the straight road, passes a sign indicating its speed, and finally decelerates on the last curve. As a result of primarily focusing on creating and designing a fast car, my car did achieve first place in the power test results.

Exploring The Amenities In The Building

Upon arrival at the specified disembarking location, I release my seatbelt and make my way down the stairs to the Chevrolet car zone. This zone presents a variety of facilities for individuals to enjoy, including dedicated stations where they can film videos featuring their customized vehicles. And there were also design stations available for those interested in redesigning their cars.

Conclusion

The car designs at test track are not genuine vehicles. However, if they were authentic, then me and everyone would be delighted to have their own unique car for global travel. Additionally, the vehicle you are riding in is merely an enjoyable experience, and allowing you to explore the technological advancements that await us in the future. I eagerly anticipate witnessing the types of technologies that may be showcased in the near future.
