Legend of the queen of the south coast

In a kingdom located on the southern coast of Java Island, there lived a queen who was known for her beauty and supernatural powers. Her name is Nyi Loro Kidul. Legend says that she is not an ordinary human, but a figure who has the ability to transform into a sea queen who rules over all creatures in the ocean.

One day, a young and brave prince from the Mataram Kingdom, named Prince Senopati, decided to challenge the big waves that often came from the southern sea. He heard rumors about Nyi Loro Kidul's supernatural powers and felt compelled to test his courage and find out the truth of the story.

Armed with courage and fighting spirit, Prince Senopati sailed the sea using his small boat. As night fell, the sky became completely dark and the waves grew bigger. In the midst of a raging storm, the figure of a beautiful woman suddenly appeared emitting a bluish-green light from the sea. That is Nyi Loro Kidul!

"What brings you to my territory, Prince Senopati?" asked Nyi Loro Kidul in a resounding voice, full of authority but gentle.

Prince Senopati calmly answered, "I came to see the wonders of the southern sea and to meet you, Nyi Loro Kidul. I want to know the power you have and ask for your help to protect my kingdom from enemy threats."

Hearing the prince's request, Nyi Loro Kidul smiled and said, "Your courage is admirable, Prince. I will give you strength and protection, but on one condition: you must respect and preserve the sea and everything in it."

Prince Senopati agreed without hesitation. Since then, the two of them have formed a strong alliance. Nyi Loro Kidul used her sea powers to help Prince Senopati repel his enemies. Large waves and powerful storms often appeared during war, destroying enemy fleets that tried to attack the Mataram Kingdom.

However, not everything went smoothly. There was an evil magician named Ki Suro Ageng who was jealous of Nyi Loro Kidul's power and her alliance with Prince Senopati. He planned to seize power over the southern seas by cunning means. Ki Suro Ageng created a very big storm to lure Nyi Loro Kidul out of her residence at the bottom of the sea.

When the big storm hit the coast, Nyi Loro Kidul appeared to calm the sea. But, that's when Ki Suro Ageng launched an attack with his dark powers. There was a great battle between the two, where the sea water was surging and the sky was full of flashing lightning.

Prince Senopati, who knew about Ki Suro Ageng's evil plan, immediately rushed to the beach with his troops. He didn't stay silent. With his courage and intelligence, he succeeded in helping Nyi Loro Kidul fight Ki Suro Ageng. Together, they defeated the evil wizard and restored peace to the southern seas.

After this victory, relations between the Mataram Kingdom and Nyi Loro Kidul became even closer. Prince Senopati always honored his promise to protect the sea and taught his people to do the same. Nyi Loro Kidul always protects her kingdom from all dangers that come from the sea.

The legend of Nyi Loro Kidul lives on, becoming a symbol of natural power that must be respected and protected. His courage and cooperation with Prince Senopati became a story passed down from generation to generation, reminding us of the importance of harmony between humans and nature.
