Is It Safe to Use a Real Butterfly Knife for self-defense?

Real Butterfly Knife

By Mai SophiaPublished 6 months ago 4 min read

Butterfly knives have been manufactured since the 1800s in Japan where they were called “wasps’ nests knives” because their handles resembled skinny wasp nests. This name was shortened to butterfly knives. If you've never heard of these knives, it might be because the real butterfly knife laws are generally not enforced. However, they're illegal in many countries including Canada, the United States, and Australia along with many other European countries.

Most knife laws ban any pocket knife with a blade that opens by hand or gravity such as a push button or thumb stud opening knife. In addition, butterfly knives have an opened and locked position which makes them dangerous to use. So why are they illegal in so many places? The main reason is that people can quickly hide them from their person without anyone noticing, so no one believes that they're dangerous enough to ban them.

Features of a Real Butterfly Knife

If you're curious about what sets butterfly knives apart from more traditional varieties, here are the features that you need to know.

1) Real butterfly knife blades are double-edged. This means that you can swing them in any direction without fear of cutting yourself (as long as the blade is closed).

2) A double-sided blade also means that your knife can cut in any direction without having to change the way it's facing (regardless of whether or not you're right-handed or left-handed).

3) Butterfly knives come with sprays of multiple colors, such as red, black, silver, and gold. These colors correspond with the number on each knife. The higher the number, the more blades you have.

4) These butterfly knives can be found in a variety of different sizes. This allows more flexibility as to what blade you might need.

5) These knives are also fully customizable. This means that you can choose how many blades you want on your knife, how many colors they're made from and even decide if they should have a thumb stud or not.

6) Butterfly knives come with either nickel or chrome plated handles, depending on the manufacturer and price range of the knife.

7) These knives are very popular among people who like to carry around a wide array of different knives and tools at all times (also known as "gear junkies").

Self-defense with Butterfly Knife

A real butterfly knife is a folding knife that can be easily concealed. It has multiple opening mechanisms, which make it easier to open for those with hand tremors. The most common type has an outwardly curved handle, which means the blade does not protrude out the front of the handle when closed. The name comes from its resemblance to a butterfly's wings when closed. Here are steps to follow these tools for self-defense:

1. Squarely position the knife in your hand, so that it is firmly in place.

2. Hold it up to your eyes and make sure you can see your target clearly in front of you.

3. Pull the knife open smoothly and without hesitation; bring it back down onto the target's body quickly and forcefully.

4. Release all pressure on the handle as you swing it over to your left-hand side, keeping a firm grip on the blade throughout this motion as well, but still making sure there is no gap between the blade and your body when you move it.

5. Bring the knife back in front of your body and then stab forward with it, striking your target with as much force as you can muster.

6. Keep the blade in place for a few seconds, making sure your target does not attack or move in any way to avoid being harmed by the knife.

7. Let go of the knife and allow it to return to its closed position if possible; do not try to retract it before you have sufficient space between you and your target.

8. Repeat this process until your attacker is no longer a threat or has been rendered incapacitated by an injury from the butterfly knife's attacks.

Safely Use a Real Butterfly Knife!

Knives are great for slicing, dicing, and chopping just about anything. But if you want the ultimate precision, a real Butterfly Knife is the only choice. These knives are one of the most intriguing tools in any knife enthusiast's arsenal.

A huge variety of styles and sizes exist so it can be hard to find the right one for you! When looking to buy a butterfly knife some very important safety considerations must be kept in mind before purchase. This blog post will outline some tips for picking out a safe butterfly knife as well as how to stay safe when using them:

1. The handle of a butterfly knife should be made from hard plastic, smooth hardwood, or be made from some other material that won't react with any chemicals present in the body. The handles are usually designed so that the knife can be gripped and used safely with one hand on either side of the handle such as in a handshake.

2. Butterfly knives have a joint at the middle of the handle that allows some flexibility for added strength if you need to wield them like a traditional folding pocket knife. It is important to note however that this is not safe and can weaken the knife.

3. Butterfly knives have small grooves or ridges running along their length, these grooves are for your fingers and palms to grip when you use them. It is not advised to use them for applying leverage or trying to cut with your entire hand.

4. These knives should always be stored in the knife block or hidden in a sheath whenever they are not being used. This is why butterfly knives should only be used with their sheathes; however, even though they are not designed to be her holsters, they can still cause injury if you lose control of them.

5. Butterfly knives are designed as an arresting tool, this means that their main purpose is for self-defense and never for any other purposes such as cutting rope or attacking people with them. This was made apparent by the many injuries I have seen from people using these knives improperly...
