Wes Ramsey's fate remains unknown

General Hospital has no shortage of leakers and set insiders who reveal upcoming storylines but the fate of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has been closely guarded. It was revealed during the summer that the actor's contract would expire in November and fans assumed the villain would be gone by that time. When Nurse Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) locked Peter's dead body in a freezer in the GH basement, viewers were conflicted. Some believed this was the end of August while others said Liz and Finn would never go down for his murder.

Peter survived and the details have yet to be revealed but it's likely he was helped by Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaunessy). The son of Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) and Alex Merritt (Finola Hughes) is definitely a chip off the old block. Each time GH viewers think he is gone for good he just keeps coming back. Ramsey recently celebrated his 4th anniversary on the ABC soap and said he was privileged to be able to perform for the fans. Viewers are wondering if this is his swan song or if his contract has been renewed?

General Hospital update: Fans are concerned about Peter, Jason, and Jax

Ramsey said his time on General Hospital has been "One of the great privileges of his life." Soaps.com described Peter as being like the "Energizer Bunny" and "still going strong". There are hundreds of articles and spoilers online that are addressing the current situation with Peter, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), Liesl Obrecht (Kathlene Gati) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). What no one has clarified, however, is whether or not Wes Ramsey will remain in the ABC soap. If his contract was not renewed then his final scene will probably be coming soon.

No one is saying what is happening with Ramsey and the fate of Peter August is being eclipsed by two other fan-favorite Port Charles characters. The departure of Ingo Rademacher who portrayed Jasper Jacks and the possibility that Steve Burton is also leaving his role as Jason seems to be on everyone's mind. Some spoilers have teased that Peter will kill Jason or that Morgan might fall from a cliff and be presumed dead as in the past. SOme news outlets have said that Jason or Drew Cane (Cameron Matthison) will end Peter's life but this has not been substantiated.

General Hospital projections: Peter could disappear only to return later

There is always the possibility that Peter could disappear and return at a later date but this would keep Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and her baby in limbo. Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Silzer) just told Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) that the little girl he believes is his does not belong to him. Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) is supposed to pretend to be the baby daddy but the fact that Bailey Quartermaine (London Silzer) is really Louise who belongs to Maxie and Peter must come to light. (As a side note London is the real-life child of Amanda who portrays Brook Lynn).

Wes Ramsey's fate will be determined by the New Year

Congratulations to Wes Ramsey for four years as Peter August and for giving the fans some great scenes. Some viewers have said Ramsey is too handsome and his boyish charm does not allow him to be convincing as a villain. Other fans love hsi portrayal of Peter and say he is doing a wonderful job. If no credible spoilers or breaking news reveals whether or not Ramsey signed for a 5th year on General Hospital fans will know if he is still around in the New Year so stay tuned.
