Judith Chapman

In October of 2019, spoilers said Judith Chapman would be reprising her role as Gloria Bardwell on The Young and the Restless. In mid November, Elizabeth Hendrickson who portrays Chloe said she would love to have her character’s mother in law back in Genoa City. Since that time, Kevin and Chloe found out they are expecting a son. They announced the pregnancy and later the sex of the baby while eating out with family. Michael, Lauren and Esther were in attendance each time, but Gloria was noticeably absent. There have been no updates since October regarding Chapman and a possible return. The new regime at Y&R brought back Paul, Lauren, Amanda (who was formerly Hilary) Ashley, Kevin and Chloe. Many charl and Lauren have been given a little more air time but are not in any front burner storylines.

Jack designated Lauren as co-COO with Kyle, when he decided to step back from his duties at his father’s company. He later promoted his son to co-CEO along with himself but Lauren was not seen even once in the office during this transition. Gloria would have been the icing on the cake and really livened things up during all the upheaval. The front desk at Jabot is empty and missing her presence. Michael and Kevin rarely mention her and with another grandchild on the way, Gloria and Esther would be hilarious trying to care for Bella and her brother. There has no been any activity at the Chancellor mansion for some time. Jill restored the home after Billy turned it into a bachelor pad but there is no life.Cane is gone and Jill remains out of town. Esther, Gloria, Kevin and Chloe would bring a lot of life to Katherine Chancellor’s old home.Bella and her brother running around would have a new generation in the stately mansion. Gloria’s family has not been given the air time that fans expected. Initially Kevin and Chloe were going to help Lauren and Michael take down Adam.

Some who watch The Young and the The Restless have been asking about Judith Chapman on social media. She would have been the perfect person to report back to Jack when all the drama was taking place between Lola, Kyle, Summer and Theo. Perhaps Gloria snd Jack might rekindle their romance. The silence since October is interesting and makes one wonder if spoiler alerts about Gloria returning were wrong. There was never an explanation as to why Chapman’s character left Genoa City. She was there one day and the next she was not. Gloria was a popular character and fans would love to see her return. The powers that be obviously did not take the hint Elizabeth Hendrickson threw out in November but at some point they might.

Chapman has appeared on several daytime dramas since the mid-1970s. Her first soap role was scheming Natalie Bannon (one of Tom Hughes' wives) on As the World Turns from 1975-1978. A four-month stint as the mysterious Charlotte Greer on Ryan's Hope in 1983 brought her critical acclaim. Her role had her character as part of a revenge plot against the Ryan family after lying to the press that she was Frank Ryan's ex-wife. She joined the cast of General Hospital the following year as the devious Ginny Blake who was the biological mother of Mike Webber, adopted by Rick and Lesley. After Lesley's "death", Rick and Ginny married in an attempt to share custody and fell in love after Ginny was found to be the killer of D.L. Brock. After that stint ended, she had a brief role on One Life to Live as Sandra Montaigne, a con-artist out to scam ex-boyfriend Jonathan Russell. She was the third former General Hospital actress to play the role of Anjelica Devereaux Curtis on Days of Our Lives, playing that part from 1989-1990 and briefly in 1991.

The actress made her first appearance on The Young and the Restless when briefly subbing for Jess Walton as Jill Abbott. She joined the cast of the CBS daytime drama full-time in January 2005. Chapman replaced Joan Van Ark in the role of Gloria Fisher and went on contract, In March 2011, Judith Chapman was taken off her contract and began appearing on recurring. status. She appeared in two episodes of Magnum, P.I. and three episodes of Murder, She Wrote.Chapman was a guest star on the final episode of Galactica 1980, and in her most recent film role she was in the 2002 romantic comedy, The Sweetest Thing, where she was the mother of Judy.
