'The Young and the Restless' puts distance between Kyle and Summer

Friday on The Young and the Restless, Kyle Abbott made peace with both Theo and Lola. He was not, however, shown in any scenes with Summer. This was done on purpose but Skyle fans should not be concerned. Because of COVID restrictions and regulations, this popular duo will not be able to have any love scenes. The Bold and the Beautiful has been using the spouses and significant others of the actors to fill in for love scenes. There was one episode where Ridge kissed a blonde manquin in place of Brooke. Nothing has been said as to why Michael Mealor's partner and Hunter King's husband cannot be used, but Soap Dirt says their characters will experience some distance in the coming weeks.

Spoilers suggest that Summer will be upset at Kyle for still being close to Lola, but Friday's episode gave the impression that he had burned that bridge. Nick ran into his once and future son in law and made him sit down for a talk. At first he was giving Kyle a hard time and had him squirming. When Nick said he was only teasing, Kyle got him back. Jack's son said that he and Summer had an open relationship and after fooling around he would go home to Summer, and Nick's eyes almost popped out of his head. Kyle said he was joking and the two parted on good terms regarding Summer.

Kyle ran into Theo and they made amends, with Kyle asking him not to hurt Lola the way he had. He then ran into Lola and mentioned that their divorce was almost final. He wished her well and she said she had learned from him and would never again allow anyone to hurt her as he had. In this one episode, Kyle got closer with Summer's dad and her ex, as well as his soon to be former wife. It looks like the post COVID episodes are going to be a clean slate and new beginnings. Skyle fans will not like the fact that there will not be any love scenes right away with their favorite couple. Kyle and Summer have an undeniable chemistry that lights up the screen.

Based on spoilers, Skyle fans should brace themselves to see Kyle and Summer, only not in each other's arms right away. Keep in mind that as these rumors appear in print, that time is passing. It may be that Summer and Kyle could be in the throws of romance sooner than expected. For weeks it had been stated that older actors were not going to be allowed back on the sets to tape right away, but Eric Braeden, (Victor) and Peter Bergman,(Jack) were indeed among the first to tape new scenes for The Young and the Restless. Actors over age 65 also returned on General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful.

It had been reported that social distancing must be practiced but Friday on ABC's General Hospital numerous characters who talking at close range, hugging, and holding hands. The best thing Skyle fans can do is watch each episode and see what happens. There had been a lot of rumors of storylines that would interfere with Kyle and Summer's happiness. Several spoilers suggested that Lola might be pregnant and pass the baby off as Theo's. It was then suggested that Theo and Lola would leave Genoa City which would cause Kye and Summer to feel guilty. Friday's episode confirmed that Sasha Kale and Tyler Johnson have not been released from their contracts.

Lola said she is giving up on opening a restaurant in Miami and that Genoa City is where she belonged. Theo was hired at Chancellor which indicates that he is not going anywhere. Now that Kyle has made peace with his cousin and soon to be ex-wife, Summer should do the same. Perhaps she will in the days to come. Soaps She Knows says Summer is going to tell her parents what she really thinks about their getting back together. Prior to the hiatus, she had been angry, but perhaps now she will have a change of heart and give them her blessing.
