'The Young and the Restless' Theo and Lola sticking around, for now

Since before the pandemic, those who watch The Young and the Restless have had questions regarding the fate of Sasha Calle and Tyler Johson. Many viewers knew it was only a matter of time before Kyle and Summer reunited and wondered what would be next for Theo and Lola. Since this past spring, the rumor mill was buzzing with the news that both Calle and Johnson were being fired. It was also pointed out that both had removed Y&R from their Instagram accounts. Johnson added the CBS daytime drama back to his resume, but Calle never did. This only added fuel to the fire that their days were numbered.

The storyline also seemed to indicate things were going in this direction. Viewers noticed that Lola was off screen a lot more than she was shown. The reason given was that she was trying to get a business started in Miami. This led fans to assume that she was being written out the show and would return to her hometown. Theo was fired from Jabot and just hung around Society. For this reason, fans thought the two would leave Genoa City together. On Friday viewers were given the impression that this duo will be sticking around, at least for the time being.

Kyle and Lola spoke briefly regarding ending their marriage and wished each other well. Kyle also made peace with Theo, who was hired to work for Chancellor with Billy and Lily. It looks like the past has been dealt with and things will be headed in a new direction, but what can fans expect of a Thola pairing? Now that there is no drama with Summer and Kyle, what could possibly add some action where this couple is concerned? The first thing The Young and the Restless needs to do is get Lola out of the kitchen. The beautiful Sasha Calle is always at work and wearing that gray jacket and black pants.

Perhaps Theo will wine and dine her and she will then be wearing evening attire and take her hair out of that ponytail. It's understandable that while at Society she must keep her hair up, but isn't it time she lets it down both figuratively and literally? There is still the issue of storyline and connection with the other residents in Genoa City. Theo will obviously be around the Abbotts as Dina slips away and succumbs to Alzheimer's disease. He had Kyle may even attempt to spend some time together but that would probably be quite awkward. Lola might hang out with Rey and Sharon once in a while, but the rumor mill is indicating that her brother's days in Genoa City might be numbered.

Lola giving up Miami and Theo landing a job at Chancellor are indications that these two will be sticking around, and should put the rumors to rests. The Y&R execs obviously wanted to set the record straight about Thola. Will Theo walk the straight and narrow while working with Lily and Billy? Will Lola be given a storyline that takes her away from work and allows her character to be explored? Perhaps while the writers had a break they have come up with some interesting scenes for Thola, together and separately. Fans of the couple should have their minds at rest for a while anyway.

Soaps.com says that next week Lola will test Theo but no details were given. Soap Dirt reveals that Summer will be jealous when Kyle seems to be still too connected to his ex wife. The spoiler says Skyle fans should not worry because this is COVID related. Romance scenes cannot be shot right now so tension is being created to keep this duo apart.
