The Young and the Restless: Michael is in the valley of decision

Fans of the Fisher/Baldwin families on The Young and the Restless have been asking for more air time for these popular characters. It may not last long but will soon devotees of this clan will be singing "Hail, hail, the gang's all here," On Monday, January 10, the troops will rally around Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) as he ponders a life-changing decision.

Spoilers say that Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E Bregman) will be the most instrumental in her husband's decision and Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman), Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), and Chloe Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson will all weigh in with their opinions. This will probably be quite interesting as not everyone is going to give Michael the advice.

The DA has come to that point in the road where he must decide what his future journey will be. He is going to ponder whether he wants to retire, continue his current job, or go in a different direction. This seems so out of place considering that Baldwin is not being shown working. Unlike the various members of the Newman family who are seen in their various places of employment on a regular basis, Michael has not been in court or working as the DA in quite some time.

The Young and the Restless: Michael has lacked screen time

The work he did with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) on the Sutton Ames case was off-camera so fans did not get to see him in action in court. When Adam Newman returned to Genoa City, Michael was considering trying to prosecute him for some of his crimes but this fell through. Kevin and his older sibling were going to get the dirt on Adam and make him pay for all the hurt he has caused but the storyline was dropped.

Now out of the blue Michael is pondering his future when he has not been active on screen in his current position. Spoilers don't say what he will decide but only that Lauren will be the major influence in what he does. Fans of The Young and the Restless will be happy to see this family on screen and working together to assist Michael in his future endeavors. The Baldwins and Fishers, however, need more than coming together every now and again as a unit.

The Young and the Restless: The Fisher/Baldwin family deserve better

Gloria, her sons, and daughters-in-law should have their own storylines and be involved in the main events of Genoa City life. Fans have been complaining for at least three years but the powers that be have not made any changes. Those who watch The Young and the Restless do not like the way legacy characters are kicked to the curb while new people like Ashton Locke (Richard Burgi) are front and center. All it would take is a bit of creative writing for story ideas that would utilize the talents of these five individuals.

The Young and the Restless fans got to see Victor in action at Newman Enterprises and were right with him when he decided to hand the reigns over to his daughter. Viewers can recall business deals, power plays, and takeovers that the Newman patriarch and his sons were involved in. It has been so long since Michael actively prosecuted anyone that those who watch the CBS soap have not had the opportunity to become invested in his life.

Fans will be hoping that The Young and the Restless does not get the gang together for a few episodes only for them to not be seen again for a number of months. Lauren had more screen time when Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) was working for her and Fenmore's was designing Victoria Newman's (Amelia Heinle) wedding gown. Chloe is basically a sounding board for Sally and Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) while Michael, Gloria, and Kevin do not seem to be viable in Genoa City. At any rate it will be good to see them on January 10 and for however long this situation lasts.
