The Young and the Restless continues to sideline Mariah and Tessa

Mariah Copeland ( Cameron Grimes) has not been involved in a meaty storyline since The Young and the Restless gave her a miracle cure. Viewers were expecting so much more when she was dealing with postpartum depression and separation anxiety over her Bowie. Tessa Porter’s portrayer Cait Fairbank was placed on recurring status so there’s only so much mileage that can be expected from her character.

For the past few months the duo basically just stands around together most often at Crimson Lights, basking in the adoration that is heroes upon them by others. Sharon Rosales Sharon Case), Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso and Nick Newman ( Josh Morrow) heap praises upon these women on a regular basis but the only thing Terrish/ Messa has done is remain a couple.

The Young and the Restless has them glued to each other’s hip and you rarely see one without the other. Now, (Rory Gibson) has joined in and wants to be a part of the wedding even though he still has feelings for Tessa. Mariah works for Jabot Cosmetics but rarely mentions her job. Tessa is obviously in Genoa City because she is not touring with her band.

The plight of Tessa and Mariah

These ladies need a life that does not include being exclusive with each other and having no outside relationships. Vilasuso has taped his final scenes on The Young and the Restless and the rumor mill is suggesting that he will die in a car crash. Whatever takes him from his family will be a difficult loss for Sharon.

Mariah will naturally be there for her mom with Tessa by her side but this still will not be a meaningful storyline for this couple. They are planning a wedding in May but If Rey indeed dies it might be postponed. Some fans of The Young and the Restless were waiting for Tessa and Noah to fall for each other again while others said the couple should be left alone.

Something needs to be done to give these two talented actresses better storylines. Now that Rey is leaving there will be one less person in the circle who tells the couple how wonderful they are.Terrish/Messa should have secrets and drama just like every other soap couple. Surely Grimes and Fairbank get tired of being smiled at as if they are nothing more than hood ornaments.

The future of Messa/ Terriah on Y&R

When they marry will try be nothing more than each other’s trophy wife? Grimes showed what she was capable of during her pregnancy, delivery and afterward but Fairbank has never been given a major role except when she was looking for her sister Crystal years ago. This couple needs more than just bring a face for Lesbian couples and perhaps the return of Michael Mealor might at least benefit Grimes's character.

Kyle Abbott and Mariah are best friends and at some point will run into each other when he is back in Genoa City. This does not, however, address Tessa who has no real ties to Genoa City except the family of her fiancé. What will the couple do once they are married? Will they be given better storylines or be in for more of the same?

Fans now wonder if the wedding will take place or if Rey’s death will delay the nuptials? Can Noah stand by and allow the woman he loves to marry another or will he speak up before it’s too late? Be on the lookout for The Young and the Restless updates to find out what’s next for Tessa and Mariah.
